  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is No Longer I Who Live

Now, this will be another passage of Scripture which I am going to look at the broader message rather than the specific subject at hand, because the broader scope of this situation is what is most concerning today. Yes, in context, this is dealing with the subject of the Judaizers trying to...

    I No Longer Live

Of the Spirit and Of Power

1 Corinthians 2:1 ESV “And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom.” There are many preachers today who have studied all the right ways of saying things in order to attract a following. They are usually smooth-tongued...

    Genuine Faith Results in Change

No Longer Walk Like Ephesians 4:17-19 ESV “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their...

    Hearing and Doing Essentials

Jesus had just talked about hypocritical judging and doing to others as we would have them do to us. He told us that we are to enter the narrow gate that leads to life, rather than the wide gate that leads to destruction. And, then he warned us against false teachers who come to us as wolves in...

    The Standard

The Greek word stauros means ‘stake’, ‘pole’ or ‘post’; but it is always translated ‘cross’ in the New Testament. When a banner or image is attached to a pole, it becomes a standard. This is the imagery from the Old Testament that Yeshua uses to teach on His purpose. John 3:14, 15. And as...

    Give it All Up!

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 ESV This is a tall order, to be imitators of God, but this is what we are commanded to do. And, to imitate God is not...

    The Church in Humility

The Lord Jesus has led me to write a series of devotions on the subject of the church. This will be the fourth in that series, as I am looking into what the church should look like and how we should function as the body of Christ. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to...

    Not Worthy of Him?

Jesus, in sending out his 12 disciples to go and to proclaim the kingdom of heaven, gave them a list of instructions, and he also gave them some warnings. He told them that he was sending them out as sheep among wolves, so they were to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves. And he...

    Provided We Suffer

Romans 8:16-18 ESV The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
