    Why do Conservative Catholics freak-out over Communion on the tongue?

    Two days ago, I posted a prayer request on the Catholic Answers Forum's prayer intentions, asking for courage to receive Communion on the tongue. And people were tripping over each other trying to beat it into my head that either form was acceptable and I shouldn't be making a big deal about it...

    Please pray for me! I'm working up the courage to receive Communion on the tongue without the fear of being sneered at by others. I posted a prayer request on the Catholic Answers Forum, and got just bombarded with messages telling me that I was being scrupulous, and that it wasn't a big deal...
