  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    The Eyes of the Lord

I’m sharing this here with you from my time of personal devotions with my Lord Jesus Christ, for your encouragement. Sue Love Proverbs 15:3 ESV 3 “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” There is a popular teaching today within the gatherings of...

    My prayers are apparently working

I have one remaining living friend, and he has four kids and a wife. He was Catholic as a kid but stopped going to mass in his teens. We spent a lot of years causing trouble in the way that teenage boys do, but we've outgrown that now. We usually talk every afternoon while he is working because...

    Expectation Vs. Reality

God really does work in mysterious ways. I've always known this but I didn't know it until recently. And it still continues to surprise me. When we ask things of him, most of the time we ask with expectation of what it will look like when he answers our prayers. So when he does answer them, we...

Those Silly Prayers...god Hears Those, Too.

Some years ago, Ole Boy locked not one, but both sets of keys in his truck. We tried for about 20 minutes to break into it with a hanger…no luck. He thought he may have another key to the truck in his filing cabinet, but the keys to the cabinet were locked in the truck. When he went inside...

What is something you wanted and prayed for a long time and it took God a while to answer?

If so, were you happy that the answer to your prayer was delayed and was the answer what you expected ( or even HOW the prayer was answered)?

    Acknowledging God Answering Prayer

In this category of "Praise Reports" (along with the category of the Prayer Wall) one of the verses that we could keep in mind is Psalm 109:27, "That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it." I often think of how we pray for people before they go into a difficult...

We all will die -- Can we know when?

Do those of God's ecclesia/ekklesia, believe God will tell us when we will die, if we ask him? “O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am!” | Psalm39:4 I believe I know when I am going to die: the first week in May, 2028, at end of my 73rd year.
