    A word of encouragement

DreamingDay, we all fail everyday. Jesus never fails. You please God because your faith and hope are in his Son, Jesus. Our failures remind us how much we need Jesus. Maybe when you feel like you fail God, why not try focusing on Jesus, by thanking God for sending His Son to live a righteous...

    A word of encouragement

DreamingDay, you are right, worrying about other people's opinions of yourself are a major source of anxiety. What we tend to forget is that other people are actually too busy thinking about themselves to be thinking about us. Have you thought of ways how you can overcome your fear of how...

    A word of encouragement

I personally found that a lot my anxiety was rooted in insecurity related to a lack of purpose (i.e. not knowing my purpose). I had questions going through my mind like: Why do I exist? There is no point to my life. I am not making any difference in this world. --- These doubts were devastating...

Should i start at the New Testament?

I would start with the NT. That is what worked best for me. Most Christians I have found to prefer starting with the NT.

    Desmond Tutu Would Prefer Hell

Fish mangers? A manger is where Jesus was, not fish. We are meant to be fishers of men, instead of believing in universalism. A. Tutu is a universalist. B. Case closed - you refused to provide scriptural back up. C. No, I didn't. D. No, I didn't God bless you, mate. I am not going to...

    Desmond Tutu Would Prefer Hell

Is it possible for a Christian to exhibit more sinful nature than fruits?

Francis Chan and David Platt really challenge Christians who talk the talk but don't walk it. Maybe offer them Platt's book "Radical." Another good challenging book I have heard about is "not a fan."

    Quakers

Here in the UK I have found Quakers to be extremely liberal. I doubt whether they can even still be regarded as Christians, despite their relatively glorious past. If you are looking for a decent church in the UK, some networks you may wish to consider are: - Newfrontiers; - Acts 29; - New...

Share criteria for finding a new church

I would look for a church that has a real culture and atmosphere of grace. It is one thing to preach grace, quite another to live and breathe it. A small Baptist church I have been a part of recently has a tremendous culture of grace that I have not seen in many churches.
