My husband is not my soul mate

I was talking about this very topic with my brother and husband recently, and we all came to the same conclusion. Our lives are like a timeline that God sees from the outside, where everything is already accomplished. Thus, He knows all of the choices we will make before we make them. In this...

Just a quick question for law proponents.

Last time I checked...they received Instruction through the Law of G-d. I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure even the Hebrew Word Torah means "Instructions/teaching". And speaking of the 'Abe-Meister' --G-d chose Him BECAUSE He kept His instructions. (Gen 26:5) Thanks for the reminder:)

Ah, then it makes sense that it shows :) Perhaps if you read them, you'd surprise yourself and learn something you don't already know :)

Perhaps you missed the last long post by Tzadik, Nanopants..

Just a quick question for law proponents.

Interesting. If you truly believe that is the sole answer to "why the Law was given," you are saying that G-d made up a law to give His people just to give Him a reason to send His son... a reason for Him to initiate a "new law of grace". Again, not consistent with the character of the G-d I...

:) Thanks for the explanation! You put that beautifully.

Apparently you do, Senior Scratch :-p I understand that perfectly. We were redeemed from sin, not from Torah. The end..

Just a quick question for law proponents.

So according to you, we are no longer "under G-d's law" yet we are abiding in G-d's will (His Law)? That is what you just wrote. . . . If we are, in fact no longer under the Law that you just described is the ONLY WAY we know what sin is, how in the world do you know what is right and wrong...

Just a quick question for law proponents.

ROM 7:12 So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. I don't claim to understand everything in the Bible, but I'm pretty sure you can be ASSURED that something is being misunderstood when you take what is "holy, righteous, and good" and turn it into something...

Just a quick question for law proponents.

I find it interesting you have yet to answer how the 10 Commandments arouse sin in you, Frogster. This is what you are claiming, correct? The verse above says absolutely nothing about arousing sin. It only makes the need for the Law that much more necessary, by stating that without it, we...

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

Let's get this straight, you think that these good little Jewish boys didn't speak Hebrew? What Jew living in Israel even TODAY does not speak Hebrew? Yeshua's name is not only in the NT, either. YESHUA is what He was called.

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

:) I think Tzadik already covered that for ya, sir. My comment was adequate to cause question in one's interpretation of the verse.

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

The discussion is neither about condemnation or justification. It's about living.

This could not be more opposite the truth.

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

Galations 2~ 11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For prior to the coming of certain men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof, fearing the party of the circumcision...

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

I'm not sure what "quote" you're referring to, but if it's the verses YOU gave me, I don't see the issue. I believe I was in the NASB. You are avoiding the only question that was being asked by raising undesired issues that I am not interested in at this point. Again, "Why did G-d give His...

Okay.. so it sounds to me like you don't favor what Paul is saying in Rom 3:31..

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

And this is your adequate answer for why G-d Himself gave His instructions in Torah? To "imprison" His beloved?

Are you under THE law, Grace or both (2)

This is a vast misunderstanding. We have gone over this in the Acts thread.
