  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Windows 11?

A variety of complaints are coming in over Win11's most recent update. I am having no problem with it, and I have the next update already installed because I am in the Insider Program. However, MS is unable to explain the current problem. SOMETIMES, Malwarebytes interferes with Win 11. And some...

    Windows 11?

Liturgist, you know more about Windows than I do! As I understand it, the new security system will be an integrated part of Windows 11. It is called "Pluton," and Microsoft states that it is directly connected to both the CPU and the operating system.

    Windows 11?

Liturgist, since Windows 11 is essentially Windows 10X with the furniture re-arranged, 11 should work well on any computer that runs 10 well.

    Dirty Church Politics

Brethren, two (or more) people had successfully caused a lot of problems in our local churches and orphanages here in Mexico. After digging my way out of the garbage, I THINK I'm on top of the trash heap, However, I do expect repercussions, retaliation, revenge, etc. Your prayers are appreciated.

    Windows 11?

My adorable wife suddenly panicked when her computer lost all contact with the internet, along with losing all her contacts. I got upset at all the problems we're been having with her Apple iPad, when she pointed out that it was her Windows computer. Oh," I said. "Just reboot." Problem solved.

    Windows 11?

Microsoft won't release figures showing how popular Windows 11 is, but online stat counters show it to be disappointingly low. Higher-end users are the most common, but the average SEEMS to be 8.57% of all Windows users are using 11. On the bright side, most users are happy with it. My...

    Windows 11?

Uh oh! We have a genuine complaint. MS will be releasing a complex security program for Windows 11 that automatically tests any non-MS software you install. It will refuse to install dangerous software, and there is nothing you can do about it. New Win 11 computers will have it installed...

Why did some early Church fathers held heretical beliefs

Many of the Church Fathers were unknowns whose writings survived--most Christians alive at the same time never heard of them. Nowhere does Scripture authorize anyone to be a Church Father. The Church Fathers often contradicted each other, as well as contradicting Scripture.

    Tithing?

New Testament Tithing Brethren, I feel that the case for NT tithing is much weaker than its advocates believe, but stronger than its opponents believe. ” “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.” “That’s the Law!”...

Okay I've been wanting to ask a Calvinist this for a while

Scripture tells us that those who accept Christ are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, and predestined to the adoption of sons. Period. Predestination to Heaven, to Hell, etc., are human philosophies that contradict God's Word.

    Tithing?

Topher, I consider that a very intelligent, well-written post. The case for NT tithing is stronger than most non-tithers believe.

    Tithing?

I appreciate so many courteous, informative posts. This is how I see it: 1) The case for New Testament tithing is FAR weaker than its adherents believe. 2) The case for NT tithing is stronger than most of our posters believe, but it not too strong. 3) There is no Scriptural justification for...

I advise you to cast off the gloomy chains of John Calvin and come to Christ.

    Tithing?

Brethren, I am impressed by the Christian courtesy of the people posting in this thread. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay tithes of mint, dill, and cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have...

    Tithing?

Acts 29 writes: "John 8:39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. Abraham had no requirement to tithe, but he did out of gratitude." Years ago, I grudgingly concluded that there is no clear...

    Tithing?

"If you want Biblical teaching on tithing it can be found in Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Deuteronomy 26:1-2, Leviticus 27:30 and a few other places. From these passages we can see that the tithe was always food - 10% of their crops." Now THAT is an intelligent point that I have never heard before.

    Tithing?

How do you identify the most genuine Christians in a church? Why, by the financial records, of course., especially if they're tithers. But is this a Biblical standard? Let's have some courteous responses, Gang!
