    Mary Sinless?

There are 2 types of sin: Mortal and Venial (which Peter calls sins that lead to death and sins that don't lead to death). And actually, the Bible does classify sin... 1 John 5 16If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life...

    Mary Sinless?

I think Jesus answers that... Luke 6: 43For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Praying TO Mary, or praying THROUGH Mary? - Roman Catholic Only

And The Bible tells us so! Revelation 12:17

    Mary Sinless?

There is no scriptural evidence that states that Mary ever sinned. There is scriptural evidence that Jesus could not have been produced from a bad tree and since He was a good fruit, the tree too must have been good from which He was produced. Jesus Himself said nothing good can come from...

Hypocritical to accept the Bible but not the Catholic Church?

All men are "fallible", but when The Holy Spirit guides someone (whether they be a Universal Christian or a Denominational Christian) and it uses that person to do It's works, the works themselves are infallible. No man can override The Holy Spirit when it commands him. :)

Hypocritical to accept the Bible but not the Catholic Church?

Not hypcritical. Just an uninformed decision. :liturgy:

    Blessed to be Catholic...

Thanks. I come back from time to time to remind myself of the good points of my faith when I get strung out a bit by defending her against anti-Catholics. :)

    Blessed to be Catholic...

Numbers are big in The Bible. For example, Peter denied Jesus 3 times, yet Jesus reaffirms Peter's love for Him 3 times at the end of John when He commissions him to be the new pastor to His flock. Also, some contend that the woman in Revelation 12 is "not" Mary, yet who else fled...

    Blessed to be Catholic...

Did you ever notice what the verse number in which those Christians who don't believe in the "real presence" of Jesus in The Eucharist is? The one where they walk away from Jesus because that teaching is too difficult for them to hear? John 6:66

    Blessed to be Catholic...

Amen, Amen. And that is what shows the world that you are a fine example of a Christian... ...it is in how you love us and how we love one another. John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." God bless you. :groupray:

surprising number of catholics don't belive Jesus is the only way to Heaven

:D I love that Simpsons Catholic/Protestant Heaven skit! Reminds me of a couple of jokes (to our Protestant friends, it's just a joke! Enjoy!): An Atheist dies & goes to heaven. Peter is giving him the grand tour. All the hosts of heaven are in groups and generally having a grand old...

Rome and the Roman Catholic Church

Long time? Wow! :D That's an understatement, don't you think? Try about 100% of the first 4 Centuries of Christianity until it became Christianity's protector! :) I'm sorry for not being more specific. I figured it would be obvious that I meant Northern Ireland since it's only in Northern...

    Blessed to be Catholic...

Hey PK, Your post reminds me about something that I love about The Orthodox Church. What we share is so great (great in the sense of volume) with out shared heritages. Some would say that heritage doesn't matter, but it does. It matters (to me at least) that I belong to His (Jesus') Church...

    Blessed to be Catholic...

First, welcome home! That's one thing about Catholics who are called home...they speak so beautifully of their past experiences with their former faith. This shows that in their becomming unversal (Catholic) Christians, they in no way have to attack their former religion, but have evolved so...

    Blessed to be Catholic...

Thank you all! I remember one particular time that it was especially difficult for me to humble myself and to make it to confession. As I walked into The Church and the large heavy door softly closed in behind me sealing out the noise of the street and the outside world, I was transformed...
