  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Hebrew word עולם/olam means eternal, everlasting, forever etc.

In the following 48 vss. the Hebrew word "olam/עולם" is defined within the text as eternal/everlasting/forever. The "defining" words are bolded. No quotes from "scholars" or "experts," scripture only. So simple a child can understand. [1] Ecclesiastes 3:14 (14) I know that, whatsoever God doeth...

    Olam/עולם means eternal/everlasting

I have been active at Christian Forums for more than 2 decades. One of the frequent arguments I have seen is "The Hebrew word "Olam" never means eternal/everlasting." I decided to review every occurrence of olam in the Old Testament. I have listed 48 vss. where Olam is defined as...

    The Biker at church.

A biker walked into a church on Sunday morning. He looked the part, long hair, beard, black leather vest, jeans, leather boots. He sat down and the "good folk" of the church edged away from him. After the service the pastor stopped him as the door and said, "If you come back to this church you...

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

John 12:32 (32) And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. According to followers of Universal Reconciliation [UR] this verse really means "Christ will forcibly drag all men to Himself," implying kicking and screaming if necessary. This assumption is made because...

Linking to previous posts to prevent posting same response repeatedly.

I started linking to previous posts which have detailed responses to repetitive controversial theology posts to avoid getting in trouble for spamming. In new system when I posted a link, as I had done previously, the link did not appear but first post on the page was quoted where the link should...

    Rethinking Hell-Redux

My ¢¢ My feelings have been hardened in eyeball to eyeball armed conflict with communist forces. In Vietnam I flew helicopters and was shot down 5 times and injured once. I will not turn tail and run. Below are quotes from three Jewish sources; the 1917 Jewish Encyclopedia, 1972 Encyclopedia...

Is There Mercy Beyond The Grave?

I do not believe that there is mercy beyond the grave. I would like to see the primary, clearest verses which proponents of Universal Reconciliation [UR] believe support their beliefs. Here are three vss. which I believe totally refute UR. Matthew 7:21-23 (21) Not every one that saith unto me...

    Humorous anecdote

A church I was attending in Orange county CA '95ish every year had a living last supper. 13 men of the church dressed in period costumes would be seated in the last supper tableau as the members began to arrive. They held the pose for some minutes until the sanctuary was settled. One by one the...

Are non-Jewish Christians commanded to keep the 7th Day Sabbath

This is taken from another thread where it would be off topic. The Sabbath is a commandment of God. Exodus 34:28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. Exodus...
