  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

You’re the only one suggesting such nonsense. Have you sinned since you’ve been saved?

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

Going back to Regeneration, how exactly does one become Born Again? An interesting discussion takes place between the Lord and a fellow named Nicodemus. Most are familiar with the passage. Or are they? John 3 (KJV) 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

Going back to John 15, as I said, the disciples did not abide, because they could not abide at that time. So those who would proof-text loss of salvation, consider the actions of the disciples after being told to abide: John 16:28-32 King James Version 28 I came forth from the Father, and am...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

I will add this, also: what I expect, based on Scripture, is that, should I fall into a pattern of sin in my life, is for God to chastise me, then take my very life if that chastisement doesn't correct. It is Christ Who first gives salvation, then preserves it. Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

No, it is you saying that to support the doctrine you want to hold. What I am saying is that, without fail, we are going to sin after salvation. Now, have you sinned since you were saved?

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

I will. What some Christians fail to understand, particularly those among the LOST (loss of salvation teachers), is that the death penalty for sin is still active. Death has always been a penalty for sin, always will be while this current universe remains in existence. Christians who practice...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

Are you suggesting there is sinlessness for believers? Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

You might want to look a little closer: 5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; In view is the Covenant of Law. Moses was faithful, but those with counterfeit faith were not. 6 But Christ as a son over his...

Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Keep the faith until the end?

Hello Romans8, I am sorry to hear that the Word of God has not given you peace in regards to your salvation. But there's still hope to be found, it is not too late to actually trust in Jesus Christ and his Sacrifice in your stead. That is, His taking upon Himself your sins. That is the central...

Hello, Der Alte, I'm not sure what it is in this that changes that Paul did not suffer a woman to teach or to usurp authority over a man. In fact, I don't even see why "a position of independent authority" is relevant, when Paul uses the consequence imposed on the woman as the reasoning why he...

Oh, I get it, lol. Yes, I did assume that your name was masculine. That's great. Doesn't mean it changes the historical use of the term. I'm not a part of your system, and view your interaction in this discussion to look suspiciously like an attempt to disrupt conversation by seeking to cast...

No, just slurring and flaming. It does look to me to be an effort to shut down discussion.

Say? There's nothing you can say about a statement like that. What is in need is remorse. And it has been addressed. It was probably Adam that said, "Eve—don't even touch it!" She still knew she wasn't supposed to eat of the fruit. And you missed the point. You're still missing the point...

And ... ? It wasn't applied to anyone. It simply points out that the term priest is historically applied to men, whereas a woman in that role is called a priestess. There was also a little humor in there, as well. Very little, but humor nonetheless. Unless you can cite a source where a woman...

Rationalization. Where in the text does he say he doesn't suffer a man to teach, nor usurp authority? Rationalization: the instruction was given, as a whole, to instruct the churches. Are you going to suggest that only part of Paul's instruction was intended to be authoritative? Did he make...

As a general rule, I agree, but that doesn't change the fact that they are now under the rule of the man as a result of the Fall. This is why we have Scripture with instruction as to the roles of men and women, husbands and wives. Agreed. You would have to provide a scriptural basis for your...

Isn't this why you are so zealous to affirm a woman's right to stand in a spiritual place of authority over men? Or happen to be the pastor ... When it's necessary. When they're called. Why deny it? And this is one of the problems: you are trying to interpret Scripture using our culture...

You know, I really expected a response to your own statement, here. This is true, however ... 1 Timothy 2:8-14 King James Version 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest...

I think most would disagree with you on this. I would not be too hasty in coming to this conclusion. This is a pattern of Prophecy: 1 Peter 1:10-12 King James Version 10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto...

First, let me say that regardless of who is right, or who is wrong in this discussion, we know that the convictions of a believer will stand as a measure of rule in our judgment. So, seeing you believe women should have the rule over men, and teach them, for you, your belief sets the standard...
