  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Men Must be Tender

Men Must Be Tender To fulfill their mission, men must be attentive to their own hearts so as to hear the voice of God, as St. Joseph did. They must also be attentive to the hearts of those entrusted to them, in order to guide and protect them well. Too often, men overlook this essential aspect...

The Significance of the Empty Tomb on Holy Saturday

The Significance of the Empty Tomb on Holy Saturday Holy Saturday stands alone in the Christian liturgical year as a day defined by silence, waiting, and profound mystery. A Personal Spiritual Reflection on the Meaning of Good Friday

A Personal Spiritual Reflection on the Meaning of Good Friday Good Friday has always touched something deep within me. It is the one day when the Church seems to breathe more slowly, more quietly, as if holding the weight of the world’s suffering in its hands. When I enter the Good Friday...

    The Importance of Confession

The Importance of Confession The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the Church’s greatest gifts. It is where mercy meets human weakness, where Christ heals what we cannot heal, and where we learn that we are loved not because we are perfect, but because God is good. Confession matters...

The Slow, Difficult Work of Forgiving: An Essay on Wounds, Will, and Faith Forgiveness is often spoken of as something noble, healing, and liberating—but rarely as something easy. In reality, forgiveness is more often a long, uneven journey rather than a single moment of decision. It...

Thoughts on Psalm 139 “The God Who Knows, Surrounds, and Forms Us” Psalm 139 is one of the most intimate prayers in all of Scripture. It is not a psalm spoken about God so much as a psalm spoken to God—a conversation between a human heart and the One who made it. The psalm begins with a...

The More Excellent Way: An Essay on 1 Corinthians 13 1 Corinthians 13 is often called the hymn of love, but Paul did not write it as poetry for weddings or sentimental occasions. He wrote it as a corrective for a fractured community. The Corinthians were gifted, intelligent, spiritually...
