  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Wife got a job

Thank you all for your encouragement. There were definitely some unexpected bumps for sure, but everything seemed to work out well. Best of all, the wife was happy with her birthday. :)

    Wife got a job

Maybe not as spectacular as some of the stories in this sub-forum, but it meant the world to us. When her new boss offered her the job, my wife responded with "Are you serious?" lol. My wife has a disability which meant there were a lot more hoops to jump through to get this for her. What might...

How many of you are suffering from the jab.

My wife and I got it and had few if any side effects. On the plus side, when we actually did get covid a few months later, I had minor effects but was really tired. My wife, who was exposed to multiple family members who had it, on the other hand had a week and half period where she was out of...

    Resisting evil

There's always at least one, isn't there? One person who can push all our buttons. Been there and it is no fun. While it can be difficult to process things logically when tempers flare, remember that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Your problem is not this woman, but rather the forces...

Disconnecting failures from earthly parents from the Heavenly Father

It makes it so much easier when you have a support network, doesn’t it? And thx for the article link. Funny thing is that the therapist that my wife had to see after we separated from my family strongly believed that my mother had NPD. Few people can mess with your head more than people who know...

Disconnecting failures from earthly parents from the Heavenly Father

Thank you for taking the time to answer. You can forgive others, but you will always be changed by certain actions and events. This can be either a good or bad thing, depending on what we choose. I have long since forgiven my family and moved on. As it was mentioned in the OP, it was not my...

Disconnecting failures from earthly parents from the Heavenly Father

We don’t get to chose our families, do we? But I’m glad that you came through it for the better. Hopefully the wisdom gained will not only serve you, but perhaps others as well if you chose to lend your insight. I tend to think that we are sometimes shielded from certain realities until we are...

    Hey all

The flesh is indeed weak, and Sneezer is a very sound sleeper. When he wants to be. Sleep through the tornado, scold someone for opening the creaky door. Don’t laugh, the last part actually has happened. Right after the same person said they shook my bed repeatedly. Personally I think they’re a...

Disconnecting failures from earthly parents from the Heavenly Father

And apologies to all if I may have missed some important details in the OP. I was trying to streamline things a bit as my first version was a small novel. If there are things I haven’t included that would help things to add up a little better, don’t hesitate to ask.

Disconnecting failures from earthly parents from the Heavenly Father

Thanks for sharing and sorry about your experience. You definitely had a worse experience than I and I appreciate your honesty. And yes, your last paragraph does indeed make sense and is good advice. I think that for me, I know that this flare ups are an obstacle to overcome for a closer...

Disconnecting failures from earthly parents from the Heavenly Father

I am currently working through something and was hoping I might get input from those who have walked a similar path to what I am right now. And also talking with others who have experienced similar things would probably be encouraging. If you haven’t, that’s fine as long as any insight given is...

    My first time here

Sounds like you've had quite the journey to get here. And C.S. Lewis is definitely one of my favorite writers, his books are a good place to start, aside of course from the actual Good Book lol. And yes, the logic of a Creator really is one of the best arguments for Christianity I can think of...

    Hey all

Thanks and yes. I figured it was appropriate considering my wife luvs the snuggles but pays for it with a runny nose afterwards. The gift that keeps on giving :sorry:
