Prayer for Pregnancy

My fiancee and I are hopeing to have a baby if its the Lord's Will, I would appreciate it if everyone would pray for us and express your thoughts and opinions about this

Hello Joseph and let me wish you luck in your endeavor to become a parent. Let me start by saying that for 6 years my husband and I tried via fertility treatments to get pregnant and nothing happened. It wasn't until 6 months ago that I finally gave up and confessed to the Lord that I was willing to live childless if it were His will for me. I just found out 2 weeks ago I am pregnant! Total shock and it appeared out of the blue.

All I can say is just pray for His will to be done and don't rush things. It may not happen now, but it will happen one way or another.

We tried about a week ago and since then she has had nausea for about a week now and has been craveing different foods and drinking lots of liquids- whats everyones thoughts ? Any other signs ?

Here are some Orthodox prayers that are used by for a woman with child. They can also be said by her spouse & friends with minor substitutions. If you are uncomfortable with intercessory prayer to Mary the Theotokos and Angels, just omit the second and last prayer.

Since you asked for advice and opinions, I will offer mine up. Maybe I would do better if I had some clarifiaction, as I am a tad confused.

Joseph- you posted not too long ago and asked for prayers for yourself and your girlfriend that you would not give unto sexual pressure before marriage. Now you are asking for prayer for pregnancy for a fiancee and that you have already tried to get pregnant. I am not trying to be judgemental here, but trying to understand the situation and what is really going on and what would be the best advice and counsel to offer at this point. I can tell you what it looks like is going on, but I would rather not jump to conclusions without some additional input from you.

Just to be clear, I noticed this also, but his last post indicated that she might be pregnant. Whatever sins may have been committed in the past do not negate the need to pray for the child (if indeed there is one).

I agree Oblio, if there is a child already, prayer is definately warranted. That is why I was asking for some clarification on what exactly the situation is. I could jump to my own conclusions, but would rather have some additional information.

I am in agreement with Oblio. I could sit here and give you all kinds of reasons why I feel the way I do. But, in the end, it's just the way I feel. Sometimes engagments don't end up in marriages and than the person that you have given yourself to, doesn't end up being your spouse. I guess I don't understand why the rush to have a child. And it really isn't any of my business. But, in my opinion, there are reasons that sex should be saved for a marriage convenant. Children are one of those reasons. But the desire to have sex shouldn't be the basis for an engagement either. Since you asked for advice and opinions, my advice is to wait until marriage. I know that isn't always easy. But sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for, right?
