f I was a Muslim I would feel insulted and belittled that you know so little about my religion to say that this young childs pain is the 'fruit of Islam'. From a mod I think that is terrible.

These children are being murdered by Islamic terrorists.

He's stating nothing other than the fact. These terrorists are Muslims.... on top of that, half of the terrorists killed today in the raid are Arab Islamic mercenaries.

I'm surprised that you would find it shocking that on a Christian site you'd find Christians pointing out something so obvious.

I'm sorry, but no matter how you run the totals the Russians are beating the Chechenyans when it comes to murdering people. The estimates of civilian casualties there are sketchy, but the orders suggested are tens of thousands (the rebels claim 60,000 but they're probably off/lying). While pictures of victims are sickinging and sad, we have to consider that it is equally sad for the villiage reduced to rubble by Russian carpet bombing, or the people raped, tortured, and killed by Russian soldiers.

No he was stating that this whole thing was the 'Fruit of Islam'.

And no I am not surprised that Christians are calling these activities the 'Fruit of Islam'. I gave up my hope for peace towards and understanding of others from some of my fellow believers a long time ago.

Well, it is, isn't it? Its simply a fact; without Islam, you wouldn't have these people conducing these "jihads" against innocent children. Fact is fact.

Ah, I see.... so Christians are non-peaceful and non-understanding simply because the point out the facts and the obvious. Okay..

They were murdered by people who happened to be Muslim. Their primary motivation is nationalistic.

People fail to understand the role of Islam in Muslims' lives. In everyday speech, I sound like a raving fundy lunatic, because I always have Islam in my speech. That's the way many muslims are.

If the terrorists pay lip service to Islam but go against it's core teaching, then it is no fruit of Islam, but rather those who use and abuse the religion.

And without the U.S. Armed Forces, you wouldn't have toruture in Abu Ghraib by American hands. Are you as quick to generalize on that topic as well?

(I thought you didn't want this to become a policital discussion?)

Well, it is, as James said. Perpetrated by the same fanactics that murdered thousands in New York a few years ago.

As to the name of the file, I called as it was on my PC when I uploaded it. I have renamed it so as not to offend the PC sensibilities of Muslims and Islamic apologists.

No you wouldn't have that. But he said the 'FRUIT OF ISLAM'. The Fruit of Islam is not this! Ask many many Muslim and they will think that these events are sick and wrong.

He was not being peaceful because he was delibratly stirring up emotions and he was not showing his understanding because, and I am really hating to repeat myself, this is not the 'Fruit of Islam'

Once again, you divert from the topic. And my "quick generalization" is based on fact.

(I thought you didn't want this to become a policital discussion?)

This is a different thread where the OP didn't designate it as a "Fellowship" or "memorial" thread, though I take note that you admit to engaging in a political debate on a thread that repeatedly made the call not to engage in discussion on the issue. Now let's get back to the topic, shall we?

Hey, fair is fair, buddy.

If these terrorists are the "Fruit of Islam" than I also assert that ...
  1. Paul Hill is the "Fruit of Christianity"
  2. Andrea Yates is the "Fruit of Christianity"
  3. James Jones is the "Fruit of Christianity"
  4. The Abu Ghraib torture is the "Fruit of the U.S. Army"
  5. How many more examples do you really need?

Gladly.

On the contrary, I think trying to go after people during this very sad and tragic time because they are venting their frustration is "deliberately stirring up emotions." That and others suggesting that Russians rape people and such.... hmm, it just seems to me that the compassionate thing to do is to give these people some breathing space right now. Those who don't, those who vehemently go after these people as hundreds of children lie slaughtered at the hands of sub-human Islamic terrorists, are looking to stir things up IMHO.

Hey I wasn't the one that said that a child who was being carried away from the scene with blood pouring down his back and marks from where he had been beaten was 'Fruit of Islam'. I was not looking to stir things up. I was just saying that from a mod, in a forum which Muslims use, it was wrong to call it this and use it to pursue his own apparent hatred of Islam.

just want to point out that the OP had a distinctively political overtone.

I would think its utterly obvious that some people are in incredible pain and rage over what has happened in Russia this past week. Considering the tone of those who are obviously hurting and angry (VERY natural, c'mon...) and the tone of those arguing against them..... I'd say the people in mourning over this are the least of the people looking to stir up "trouble" or whatever you might call it.

The people acting totally incensed over Oblio's statement didn't show anything close to that same amount of emotion and outrage when it came to these poor children. If I'm incorrect, please, show me where I missed it at.

How about here? I can understand how you could miss one thread... especially one thread on which you posted on... to comment on posts made well after the OP...

And I'm very glad we can agree on the barbarity of this cowardly, sub-huiman act. Again though.... I think its common sense to allow people to vent their frustration, their hurt and pain right now..... challenging that will only cause more trouble, though if people wish to engage them anyway, it is my belief they are simply trying to stir up trouble. After all, if people started attacking and rebuking Americans who were hurt and in pain on the very day of 9-11, I'd think the very same thing.

Oh come off it, James. I do get sick and tired of the old excuse that people can run their mouth off about others just because they're upset. It was the same old garbage we went through a couple of months ago when you blamed "the left" for Nick Berg's beheading.

We're all upset James. And some of us have been talking about it for days now. Of course, some people just can't help themselves when it comes to making some digs at a competing religion. But hey, that's okay, they're mourning. They're allowed to rant.

Well, I'm allowed to challenge such foolishness. And I couldn't care less about hiding behind some whimpy excuse for it.
