  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anti-evangelical evangelicals.

The pollsters “sound” like they may be of Baptist persuasion? Baptists believe they “choose” God, which is false; God chooses us and not for anything good we have done.
TFT you are an excellent Calvinist. I shan't convince you. Nor need I. Let's watch together as the number of evangelicals shrinks away. And we needn't fret about it as Elijah did. It's all God's plan. My mind's at rest now. Thanks.

Guessing you aren’t familiar with the biblical accounts I mention. Don’t fret…

Again, you're on the wrong track. This is not about being unable to tell the Gospel story. This is about the growing unwillingness of people to listen to it. Jesus Himself spoke of locations where the Good News would not be accepted. Out President has greatly increased the many who will refuse to hear it. Name any other person with ties to evangelism who has discouraged people from hearing the gospel more than him.
-
There may be a growing number who are opposed to hearing about Jesus and the offer of eternal life. But there are no examples that it is all and only because of trump.

Or at least you have not actually given any. All you have given is that, that is what you believe.

What happen in Europe they greatly oppose hearing about Jesus. Has trump caused that also.

Good grief. You keep missing the point. It is certainly not all and only about Trump. There are many other factors. None the less, Trump, (or more accurately, the way evangelicals have accepted Trump in exchange for his help), is in fact, one of the major causes. And it's not a matter of what I believe. It is what I and many others observe. Could we be wrong? Possibly. But I'm willing to let the evidence grow until we no longer argue about it. My concern is that Christians tied to what they seek to gain from Trump may very well lose far more than they gain. And, no, Trump did not cause the decline of evangelical Christianity in Europe. That was obviously due to many other factors and it was obtuse to assume that was part of what I was saying.

Then he was afraid, and he arose and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
[4] But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and he asked that he might die, saying, "It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am no better than my fathers." As you can see, he did fret.

I think that is just an attempt/attack at using evangelism to make trump out as some kind of boogeyman.

Again where is any actual examples where a person has rejected God's free gift of Eternal Life. Because of trump and the way he acts.

Plus I will add I am not a trump supporter and have never been a trump supporter. But I also do not support any democrat and never will.
Both Democrats and Republicans are shameless. But Dems do not promote a sham Christianity that tarnishes the Gospel presentation so badly that it is sad. Evangelicals have ordained Trump as their new messiah .

Jimmy Carter, Joe Biden the Catholic…there’s much awfulness out there on the liberal side… they want liberation from earthly and heavenly laws… the lawlessness of the last days written of in Scripture

There can't be any such thing as a "Godly" nation in this fallen world. Roger Williams explained the problem 'way back in the mid 1600s.

Jimmy Carter to Joe? How about the Clinton and Bush era. Certainly nothing to be proud of. But evangelicals have never glommed on to such an anti-character as Trump and even now they don’t want to let go. Where there should be tremendous shame and compunction there is only blindness.

Well what liberals need to do is go out like this person (in the video) and ask.

How has evangelicals supporting trump affected your view of of the gospel.

And record your responses, kind of like this person does

Then we will know if your complaint has an actual reality

Look into The Timothy Initiative

Your efforts will overcome your fears!
I should add the Romans passage… overcome evil with good.

Do not destroy what God has ordained.

You've been sold a bill of goods. However much you disagree with both Carter and Biden, they both were motivated by their faith. In contrast to Trump who makes no secret of his earthly immoral nature. While both Carter and Biden irritated conservatives in their own way, they also inspired many others to look into their faith. Carter worked in Habitat for Humanity. Biden carried and prayed a rosary every day. Bush promoted Head Start and No Child Left Behind and sought to aid Africa against HIV. Trump shilled his 'special' Bibles to make money off of suckers. It's no wonder today's young adults want nothing to do with the Evangelicals.
