  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Genocide requires the deaths of all noncombatants on the losing side, not just 'collateral damage'.

Okay, I'm not advocating genocide then, I don't want that, Im just saying let them fight to their own natural finish, without interference.

I already admitted earlier that I don't fully know what genocide is. Is it destroying all their buildings? I don't know for sure. @rambot suggested I read some books on it earlier, after saying this already is a genocide! So I just don't get it. At all. Because here we have a genocide, and not everyone is dead.

Fight each other to what end?

They can always make peace with each other. Is that the end of which you speak.

(There is something you are thinking that is not coming through in your message.)

Yes, if they make peace, that would be a great thing. All im saying is to allow them to handle their situations to their own natural end. Without interference.

What is a "natural end" to armed conflict (war)?

Raul Morales - a name more associated with Catholicism than Islam
Ahallu Akbar is not associated with Catholicism.
And did he mistake the first man, an Asian, for a Jew somehow?
I do not believe that Islamists kill only Jews. They have killed an awful lot of non-Jews in the name of Allah.
Oh baloney, there is little evidence that the man is an Islamist or even a Muslim.
I think yelling what he did is evidence. Maybe it will turn out he is not one. But I believe we are allowed to seriously consider that he is based on the words he used. Which are typically used by murderous Islamists.
most Muslims are not Islamists
Doesn't change my statement. I would say that your statement might be true and it might not be true. When you look around the world and the typical Islamic countries and countries where the Islamic population had grown a lot you will find your ststement is more untrue than true.

It depends solely on a case by cas basis. It's whatever those involved choose to do, on their own, without intervention.

Have you ever considered a 'reverse world war'..? That would be a war between two countries, where the world prevents any kind of outside interruptions (rather than involvement). IOW, just let them duke it out until their finished. It's a hypothetical idea.

Again what is better? 1000 years of constant bloodshed and battle? Or a quick end, by means of genocide. Tell me the answer in truth, if you can, on which is better.

This is a real question. I don't know for sure myself.
In those 1000years you passively throw away, dozens of generations of healthy, coping families are able to live a life. Hundreds and thousands, if not millions of people get to be blessed with life.

But you can't figure out which is better?

Frankly, this question sounds like psychopathy.

You think a life of constant bloodshed, hatred, starvation and misery is a blessing? I guess neither of us could claim to know what it's like to live our lives in a war zone, knowing our children, and their children will live their lives the same. Would we even choose to reproduce in an environment like that? Why would we... And how could we say it's a blessing?

Maybe think about that before jumping to a conclusion.

That's true. Why does Trump often tweet "Praise Allah"?

It's evidence but not proof, as is his yelling "Justice for the Romero family" is evidence for the contrary. Given what we know so far, he seems like a lone nut.

Indonesia has the most Muslims of any country, but it does not seem to be a hotbed of Islamists. Perhaps the radical bloodthirstiness is a Middle Eastern thing?

No, because I'm not interested in war as blood sport.

Mamdani has previously accused Israel of genocide.
So have many people.
But what is there specifically antisemitic about? And in the article linked in the OP, there isn't even a hint of such a statement by Mamdani. Only that he would seek a legal way to comply with the ICC's request. Is compliance with the ICC antisemitism?
And what evidence is there that Raul Morales somehow got "inspired" by Mamdani's words? How does Mamdani has "blood on his hands"?

Mamdani has said Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians.
But to be fair, so has Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan and Dave Smith (and a whole host of other people who aren't Muslims)...

Obviously we wouldn't say they're complicit in this.

I think this is where people need to look at the individual components, and not allow things to get compartmentalized together that shouldn't be.

There is some bad blood between Muslims and Jews, and that predates any of us. So yes, you'll have some Muslim extremists who target non-Muslims, but that's not coming from an any anti-Israel critiques or modern sentiments, that's coming from the fundamentalist Islam ideology itself. That kind of stuff is going to keep happening regardless of what someone says on a podcast or who the Mayor of NYC is.

The Israeli government (and AIPAC) have done a masterful job of making "Israeli government" synonymous with "Jews (more broadly)" in public discourse, so that when anyone criticizes the actions of their government, they can label it as antisemitism, and scapegoat it for whatever the most recent attack happened to be.

There's any number of things that we can blame Mamdani for (creating "socialism fever" among the youth, weak crime policies, etc...), but I don't know that this is one of them.

Context.

Yes it's evidence. Islamists when murdering say other things besides Allahu Akbar. It's not contradictory. Being a lone killer doesn't mean you aren't an Islamist. He could end up simply being a nut with zero ties to Islam. We'll see. With everything going on in rhe world with Muslims, one can't help but be concerned when someone yells such a thing while murdering people.

Maybe. The middle eastern thing has come to the west. And the more we allow in the worse it will get. That can't be denied. We have the evidence of it.

Perhaps. Without more evidence, he simply seems like a disturbed psycho rather than an actual Islamist.

Yes, with Muslims in the news, mentally disturbed people can become focused on them, even wanting to emulate the worst (think of all the copycat school shootings, for instance).
Maybe. The middle eastern thing has come to the west. And the more we allow in the worse it will get. That can't be denied. We have the evidence of it.
The worst what will get? The people leaving the Middle East are leaving. Villainizing them won't improve the situation.

Do you think that Raul Morales is Middle Eastern? I doubt it.

There should be no excuses for such bigotry, just because other people are does not justify it. The movement behind Mamdani is strong and they look to be poised to gain more power within the Democratic Party.

Community frustrated over Jewish representation noticeably missing from Mamdani's advisory committee

"Mayor Mamdani is facing criticism from the Jewish Community, this time over his appointment of an 18-person committee that will advise him on his judicial nominations. Not one person out of the 18 people he picked is Jewish."

After failing to defend your antisemtic label, I see you have moved on to bigotry.

You keep qualifying the arrest warrant as antisemitism and bigotry, but you fail to explain what there is antisemitic or bigot to arrrest a potential war criminal against whom an arrest warrant has been issued.
Are the arrest warrants against Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Haniya also a form of bigotry?
Were the warrant, arrest and conviction of Slobodan Milosevic bigotry or antisemitism?
