The great tribulation Jesus prophesied in Matthew 24 occurred in the first century AD.
The last antichrist will not come into his power until shortly before Jesus' second coming. God came in judgment against the evil Jews in the first century AD. He used the Roman armies to punish them.

Matthew 24:34
Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.

Matthew 24:29-30 is prophetic language. It is not literal. It symbolizes God's judgment.
Isaiah 13:9-10 is an example of this judgment language.

Show me the Church Fathers who taught that there will be a separate "snatching up" of the faithful, entirely separate from the judgment of the sheep and the goats at the end of time. You cannot simply cite one chapter of one letter as if that alone proves your point when the entirety of Christendom for nearly two thousand years had the same scriptures and not one of them claimed it taught what you claim it taught.

Who are these righteous people who must remain in the prison part of Hades, aka purgatory, until the end of time, where their sins are still being purged from their spirits by fire? 1 Corinthians 3:15

Peter tells us that some are from the time of Noah. These people repented before they drowned. Jesus went to preach to them in this prison after he died but before he rose from the dead.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

Perhaps Adam and Eve remain in this prison also. They caused the fall of humankind.

This is not doctrine.

I have studied the scriptures for many years, pondering this passage, and this is what I think it means.

Matthew 27:50-51
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

These bodies of the saints were raised before Jesus rose from the dead, the first resurrection, so they are mortal bodies; therefore, they cannot accompany their spirits into heaven. They will receive their glorified bodies at the end of time.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

The spirits of all the saints who are in heaven are reigning with Jesus presently. They will reign with him there until it's time for him to appear a second time on earth. This, on the other hand, I do disagree with. The Byzantine iconographic tradition as well as the famous Holy Saturday Sermon testify that Adam was among the first that Christ raised when He went to Hades.

Rev 20:4-6 was written for the end times. It said the first resurrection people had not worshipped the beast nor received the mark of the beast. Future time. It never said the people preached in prison by Jesus were resurrected at that time. And it didn’t say they were of the first resurrection because it was not the time. The prisoners were all the people after Noah including Pharisees and the were given a chance to accept the messiah. Some did not or heLL would be empty. I never heard of repent flood casualties. That must be from one of your saints.

You have yet to produce the names of anyone reading the Scriptures in this way before Darby. Why should we believe this novelty when the Church that has had the Scriptures for two millennia has never read them in this way?

Prophetic scripture is not meant to be understood in a literal manner.

"Had not worshipped the beast nor received the mark of the beast" simply means that these people remained faithful to God's commandments until they died. Revelation 2:10

There can only be one first resurrection. That was Jesus Christ, and he released those righteous spirits from Hades at the time of his first resurrection. They have no fear of the second death because these spirits are already in heaven. They will accompany Jesus to earth for his second coming after their glorified bodies join with their spirits.

John 5:28-29

The Book of Revelation is not written in chronological order. Some were past events, some present, some near, and some for the end of time.

These martyrs were waiting for Peter, Paul, and others to be martyred and join them "under the altar." These spirits were not literally under the altar.

These martyrs were avenged when God, using the Roman armies, destroyed Jerusalem, the temple, and the evil Jews in 70 AD. Luke 11:49-51, Luke 21:20

"Beheading" symbolized all types of "martyrdom."

Hebrews 1135b-38

Jesus returns to earth only once more, to judge the living and the dead (the sheep and the goats), in the Kidron Valley (Valley of Jehoshaphat).

After the judgment, Jesus will turn his kingdom over to his Father. "Time" will end, and "Eternity" will begin.

‘But arise, let us go hence. The enemy brought you out of the land of paradise; I will reinstate you, no longer in paradise, but on the throne of heaven. I posted the cherubim to guard you as they would slaves; now I make the cherubim worship you as they would God.
