  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And I can 100% guarantee you that what I said probably has a great deal more chance of sinking in or getting through with him than what you guys are right now doing.

It has always played the videos, it is the CF "software" stack that mangles things. That it appears has not changed, though one or two of the "ad videos" is sneaking through...

I've no problem with it. Christian friends use it with me. Which reminds me of how Dave Allen, the late Irish comedian who was an atheist used to end his shows.

It is not Jesus way to try and shame someone into submission, and it's not usually very effective either anyway, but only incites further rebellion most usually, and only makes sin/bad/evil wrong only much more worse usually, etc. The OT/OC showed us that better than anything, etc. Unfortunately though, a lot of people just love doing it to somebody, etc. But it's not Jesus way, etc.

You're going to force me to mention that, well then, ok.

I was going to say that the only time Jesus tried this strategy, was only with the Jewish religious leaders, or religious Pharisees only. So who do you think it should be used with today?

Funny thing is, I try to not even do that even, but sometimes it can't be helped sometimes with that kind though, and so I sometimes find myself resorting to it sometimes with them, etc.
