According to Laura Loomer on Twitter, McConnell is currently in organ failure and been declared brain dead, being kept alive on life support. His wife hasnt made any statements, but three days after his hospitalisation, she flew to China and has remained there since.

As tragic as this would be on a personal level for his family and his wife, it is a matter of public interest for the health status of congressmen to be disclosed. Apparently there has been radio silence for weeks. If he is dead or there is even just a high chance that he won't be able to work again in a reasonable amount of time, perparations for a special election would need to start. With everything being held up, the democratic party would be right to cry foul.

On June 15, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said he had spoken with his hospitalized colleague and he “sounded good.”

[Thune could be lying of course. Or McConnell may have deteriorated since then. And obviously it would help if his staff or he himself released more information.]

And he failed to serve America dutifully. Recall his shirking of the senates constitutionally prescribed responsibility to provide advice and consent re the nomination of Merrick Garland.

Then when the shoe was on the other foot, all his previous rationale went out the window. This man plainly lacks integrity.

Senator, not congressman. We have 50 senators, two from each state, as opposed to 435 congresscritters. Not that you should know, but missing one of fifty is more significant than one of four hundred and thirty-five.

It really does appear that McConnell is not fit healthwise for office. Also, if the reports are true that he is brain dead and kept on life support, I wonder why.

He shaped the current Supreme Court, for better or for worse (the latter, imo).

IMO his staff are not reporting it because they would effectively be out of a job. Probably they are scrambling to find something else...

Going to be interesting to find out what is actually going on. It's just baffling to me that there isn't any clear information on the state of health of a politician who has had health issues before.
