The problem is that the left supported the degenerate thugs who called themselves Antifa. The very same degenerate thugs who murdered at least 48 people and caused billions of dollars in damage in cities across America. They not only supported them, they actually embraced them and said whatever is necessary to rid the country of the people who disagreed with them.
I would think you’d denounce it on all sides.
I'll note that you slid from '
they not only supported them' to suggesting '
you'd denounce it'.
You had to move from third person plural to third person singular because otherwise you'd have to claim that I supported 'degenerate thugs'. Which you know as a fact I don't. You've seen enough of my posts. But you wanted to make it personal because you thought it carried more weight, because you pigeonhole me on 'the left' and in your world 'Left bad!'
It's a perfectly constructed microcosm of the thought process of a
lot of people in this forum. I've literally been told in the last week or so that if Trump says something then it
must be right.
What he says is irrelevant. And the other side of that same coin when a senator said last week that he'd vote against the housing bill because 'if the Democrats support it, it must be bad'.
So in your world, if someone criticises a far right white nationalist group of thugs then it's too tough gig for you to claim that that person supports far left thugs but you feel that you can immediately imply it using nonsensical rhetorical musings by saying 'I have to wonder if these were the same sentiments used by the left to describe Antifa...'
It's so typical a knee jerk reaction that it's become a cliche around these parts.
And to make sure that you're not in any doubt, then here's a heads up: I strongly reject any violence to people or property for whatever reason. The politics of those committing violence is utterly irrelevant so I don't care if they nominate as left or right.
Now you've got a chance to comment on the current matter yourself. You've left it quite late, but hey, better late than never.
