me too , in east Europe everyone eats pork ... but nothing beats a marinated barbequed lamb leg chop ... and when done chewing you get to suck the marrow out the bone ... anyway how are you ... i just popped in to see if you had posted of late ...
You ever see tape worms, brain and liver flukes, warble fly and blow fly larvae in cattle; the same in sheep plus scrappies. BSE (mad cow) in cattle, sheep, deer. Deer ticks. Non of these seem to bother the poor old pig. I had delicious, home-made smoked pork garlic sausage on whole wheat bread with mustard and Sauerkraut. Oh man! A true blessing it is! If pork is so dangerous, why does the Bible say nothing about that danger? It was an obedience issue with His rebellious Jewish nation. Other nationalities that are "less" Christian and Jewish don't seem to die off; instead they wait to be evangalized.

Judaizers.
One way to reconcile Scripture is to look at the final result.
Jesus Second Coming/Judgment is the final result and this is what He says about eating unclean things.
Isa 65:4 Who sit among the graves,
And spend the night in the tombs;
Who eat swine’s flesh,
And the broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
Isa 66:16 For by fire and by His sword
The Lord will judge all flesh;
And the slain of the Lord shall be many.
17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves,
To go to the gardens
[a]After an idol in the midst,
Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse,
Shall be consumed together,” says the Lord.
So all these verses we think say we can eat anything we want are clearly misunderstood according to thus saith the LORD.
An example is that Jesus made all foods clean as people quote in Mat 15 and Mark 7. Sadly this was added by many translators, not in the original but if we look at the context, Peter never took that is was about making foods clean, why he asked Jesus what He meant..
Mat 15:15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
16 So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
And Jesus answered plainly and He plainly said it was not about food, food was only used as an illustration a parable about something else as He plainly explained.
Furthermore, if you look at Acts 10 when Peter received a vision, he never took what Jesus said was about food in Matthew because 30 years later he still never ate anything unclean.
Acts 10:14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
Nor did Peter think this vision was about food....why he wondered what the vision meant
Acts 10:17 Now while Peter [g]wondered within himself what this vision which he had seen meant, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate.
And was later told it had nothing to do with food
Acts 10:28 But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean
It started in the garden eating something God said not to. Why would anyone want to risk eating something God deemed an abomination when He gave us so many other clean options to eat. Why would anyone want to do anything God deems an abomination to Him.
Rev 21:22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine [l]in it, for the [m]glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations [n]of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor [o]into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into [p]it. 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Not in respect to animals and other things which are physically unclean. God made a list.clean and unclean relate to thoughts (perception ) and why we are judged by the words which come out of our mouth ...
'For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Not what is entering into the mouth defiles the man; but what is proceeding out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”Not in respect to animals and other things which are physically unclean. God made a list.
Besides taking that verse out of context, what was said in response to your post has nothing to do with what that verse says. Not what is entering into the mouth defiles the man; but what is proceeding out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
Frankly. this looks like hunting an excuse not to eat pork when, if the idea is that the command of God to the Children of Israel not to eat pork also applies to gentiles, then that God commanded not to eat it should be sufficient enough. The Trichina worm today can still get through because of eggs embedded in muscle tissue of pigs. But only a hand full of cases are reported each year in America.

Yes, you can still get trichinosis (trichinellosis) from eating undercooked pork. However, the risk from commercially raised pork is extremely low. Most modern cases in the U.S. and other developed countries are linked to eating raw or undercooked wild game, such as wild boar or bear.
Health risks from eating pork primarily involve foodborne parasitic infections, risks from processed additives, and heart health concerns linked to high saturated fat and sodium content. [1, 2]
The primary health concerns associated with consuming pork include:
To mitigate these risks, public health experts advise handling raw pork safely, avoiding cross-contamination, and ensuring that pork is always thoroughly cooked to the recommended safe internal temperature.
- Parasitic Infections: Eating undercooked or raw pork can transmit dangerous parasites. This includes Trichinella roundworms (which cause trichinosis) and Taenia solium (pork tapeworm). Tapeworm larvae can migrate to the brain, occasionally leading to cysticercosis and adult-onset epilepsy. [1, 2, 3]
- Viral & Bacterial Contamination: Pork products can harbor pathogens like Yersinia enterocolitica (causing yersiniosis) and Hepatitis E, which is particularly dangerous for vulnerable populations or those with weakened immune systems. [1, 2, 3]
- Cardiovascular Risks: Many cuts of pork and processed pork products (like bacon, sausage, and ham) are high in saturated fats and sodium. Overconsumption can elevate LDL ("bad" cholesterol) and blood pressure, contributing to a higher risk of heart disease and stroke. [1, 2]
- Cancer Concerns: Processed pork meats often contain chemical preservatives, such as nitrates and nitrites. Regular, heavy consumption of these processed meats is classified by health agencies as potentially increasing the risk of colorectal and stomach cancers. [1, 2, 3]
- Antibiotic Use: Historically, swine production has faced scrutiny regarding the volume of antibiotics used, raising concerns about potential impacts on antibiotic resistance in humans. [1]
Reminds me of comments by both Bishop Fulton Sheen and my late Presbyterian pastor. Now, as it happens, I don't like pork. That comes from raising hogs.
If you took this that God does not want us to keep the Sabbath in this passage, one would also have to come to the conclusion God does not want us to pray. Isa 1:15 Why we should never isolate a word from all of its context.Uh oh. Isaiah 1:13-14
Yes, so when people teach not to obey God, not to obey what God deems an abomination to Him, not to obey what is holy to God, not to obey God's commandments we will all be held accountable. Jesus spoke of this Mat5:19clean and unclean relate to thoughts (perception ) and why we are judged by the words which come out of our mouth ...
'For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
You should continue reading the rest of this passage, where Peter asked Jesus to explain the parable because he didn't think it was about food. Jesus did explain what He meant, its strange the entire point of this passage was left out. Peter who asked the question never took it about Jesus making all foods clean, considering he is the one who asked Jesus the question and still never ate unclean foods decades later Acts 10:14 so Peter didn't take it that way and Jesus certainly never explained it that way. Once God deems something an abomination, it stays that way until the end. Those are strong words from our Creator. Not what is entering into the mouth defiles the man; but what is proceeding out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
in regard to a house at peace\rest as in no longer condemned\under by\the the law of menBesides taking that verse out of context, what was said in response to your post has nothing to do with what that verse says.
It is a fact in respect to animals and other things which are physically unclean. God made a list.
If you do not think so go play with a corpse.,
They never took eating something God deemed an abomination as food. It was something not even offered so wouldn't be a concern. This is about being hospital at someone house. I am a super picky eater so its about being gracious even if one doesn't like it not that we can drink poison, eat rats, cats and skunks.in regard to a house at peace\rest as in no longer condemned\under by\the the law of men
Stay at the same house, eating and drinking whatever you are offered.
If you enter a town and they welcome you, eat whatever is set before you.
i am marinating some pork steaks at present and they have as much chance of defiling me as a Fugu fish served on raw kidney beans with a side of wild mushrooms ; albeit the latter prob make me rather ill ...
But Acts says as you all have already discussed “do not call unclean what God has made clean”. That should be end of discussion but this thread lives on and that is puzzling.Well, it wasn't an AI that wrote that. And isn't it those who insist that eating pork is fine who make an argument from silence? After all, the Old Testament is very far from silent about prohibiting pork.
I know, its sad. I don't think they understand how serious abominations are to God. We see this plainly in Revelation.
This is exactly what happened in Scripture, over and over, its the same cycle people don't realize it.
