In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here are some findings in the commission’s latest report:

  • Israel has killed 20,000 children and injured 44,000 more since 7 October 2023
  • Severe physical and mental injuries, mass trauma, orphanhood, separation, disability, repeated displacements, starvation and the collapse of education and healthcare have erased childhood and will continue to affect children in Gaza throughout their lives
  • Palestinian children have been arrested and subjected to torture and other severe forms of mistreatment in Israeli prisons and detention facilities, with no information on their whereabouts
  • Israeli security forces have used sexual violence against children as part of the collective shaming and oppression, entrenched within a prolonged, ethnic, gendered and intergenerational pattern of occupation and hostilities

I have long supposed that they have been targeting kids, especially in the Occupied Territories and Gaza. Now I know it as fact.

Fact checking organizations such as France 24's Truth or Fake, have investigated viral images of alleged booby-trapped dolls and found them to be misattributed or altered, often using footage from entirely different conflicts or regions.

Continuous Hamas led attacks against Israel brought about those deaths. The terrorists are to blame.

I am not being one sided in this matter at all. What Hamas did OCT 7 was completely wrong. But I believe Israel's response was disproportionate.
67,000 lives for 1500 lives? To me there is no justice in this.
Another question. Why are the Palestinians so against Israel? Because in 1948, 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced from their homeland by Israel. And this displacement has continued down to the present. Now don't you think you would be aggrieved if that happened to you?
I don't condone the Palestinian violence, but I do understand the why and their frustration for justice to be served.

Oct 7 was just the start. Hamas kept at it knowing that Israel was a superior force. Hamas doomed the Palestinians by continually attacking.

Explain how less than 1% of the 2.3 million living in the Gaza Strip, 3.3 million in the West Bank, and 1.9 million living in Israel amounts to genocide.

67,000 out of 7.5 million is 0.89%.

Less than 1% of the population is not genocide.

People hear buzzwords like genocide and run with it without putting any thought into it.
