  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

About a month ago I noticed POTUS’ breathing seemed somewhat labored, on several occasions, as he spoke. To take breaths, he has been slightly clenching his teeth and inhaling, making a noticeable whooshing sound. Very pronounced today as he spoke in Europe with some cabinet members behind him. This is accompanied with a nasally sound and fatigued look. His shoulders look more sagged when walking than it used to. He needs rest—and deserves it! I suspect sinus issues. Okay, he’s 80, but I think his full court press way of handling things needs to be scaled back. He’d still be putting out way more than any president within his living memory.

80 is not young and he’s showing his age.

He deserves a lot of things, but rest is not at the top of my list.

Among the patients investigated, 57 (29.5%) reported senile purpura at the time of this study (n=27, 14.0%) or a history of senile purpura (n=30, 15.5%). The mean age of onset was 71.0±10.0 years. The most common site of purpuric lesions was the lower arms and hands (n=55, 96.5%), followed by the lower legs and feet (n=30, 52.6%), and the thighs (n=20, 35.1%). Approximately one-third of the patients investigated (n=17, 29.8%) reported that they almost always had senile purpura lesions. More than 50% of patients (n=34, 59.6%) reported that the purpuric lesions persisted for <2 weeks, whereas 11 (19.3%) patients reported that their lesions lasted >3 weeks. Most patients (n=40, 70.2%) reported no seasonal clinical fluctuations. More than 50% of patients (54.4%) reported that minor trauma was an inciting factor. Notably, 22 (38.6%) patients did not report any inconvenience from senile purpura, whereas 13 (22.8%) reported interference in their daily lives (Supplementary Table 1).

Although cosmetically displeasing, senile purpura is benign and unrelated to any systemic diseases or blood dyscrasias. It is, however, a risk factor for skin tears in institutionalised patients.

The purpuric lesions resolve over one to three weeks and may produce residual brown pigmentation of the skin. Unfortunately, senile purpura is recurrent and associated with lifelong reappearance of new lesions.

If this is what he's got, he keeps getting it in the same spot. I think it's probably IV infusions rather than a hand-shaking bruise. Too bad the most transparent president ever is so secretive.
