• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1 Kings 17:7-16

“The jar of flour shall not go empty, nor the jug of oil run dry.”

This is a good image of God’s providence, but also of God’s grace and love, which continues to be poured upon us.

Matthew 5:13-16

“You are the salt of the earth.”

This refers to the flavor that salt gives. It is an image that Jesus conveys so that we may understand that the flavor of God’s grace is 100%.

1 Kings 18:20-39

"That this people may know that you, Lord, are God."

Let us continue to discover more about who God is. Let‘s allow Him to love us.

Matthew 5:17-19

Jesus said, "I have come not to abolish but to fulfill the law and the prophets."

Jesus came to fulfill them to give more space to God's love.

1 Kings 18:41-46

The signs on earth, like the rain in this passage, remind us that all grace, love, joy, and peace come from God.

Matthew 5:20-26

Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.” Jn 13, 34 (Acclamation to the Gospel.)

…as God loves.

We allow God to love by observing his love in our lives and in the lives of others.

Sacred Heart of Jesus

Deuteronomy 7:6-11

"If the Lord has chosen you, it is out of love for you."

And since God is Love, He gives us life; He has chosen everyone. It remains for the world to realize that God is love.

1 John 4:7-16

"God has loved us."

God loves us: "God is Love."

Matthew 11:25-30

Jesus said: "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."

We place a veil between ourselves and God. But, when we uncover a corner of the veil, we are surprised to see that God is present. Let us become more present to God's presence.

Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary

1 Kings 19:19-21

Elisha gets up and follows Elijah. Elisha recognizes in Elijah a man who listens to God.

Let us remain listening to God.

Luke 2:41-51

“Why were you looking for me?”

The question of seeking is found throughout the Bible. And Jesus’ first words are a question. Why are you looking for me?

It is like a fish in the sea seeking water. It is surrounded by water. We are filled with God’s love.

Let us meditate on what is beautiful, good, right, true, just, and real, and on God’s love, joy, and peace within us, and we will find God.

Exodus 19:2-6a

“Moses went up to the mountain of God.”

There is a camp full of people, and Moses goes up to God. It would be good if humanity went up to God.

Romans 5:6-11

“God proves his love for us.”

The proof that God loves us is that God loves us.

Matthew 9:36–10:8

“As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

Near… means that God is with us and his life is in us. Let us proclaim that God loves us and invite people to be more aware of the joy of the child, God within them.

1 Kings 21:1-16

God teaches us that the only true authority is love, the joy of a child, welcoming, and respect.

Matthew 5:38-42

Jesus said, "Offer no resistance to one who is evil."

There are two good reasons for this: to ease tension, and to allow time to find equitable solutions.
