  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jasmine Crockett suggests she also would have stabbed Austin Metcalf in stunning defense of Karmelo Anthony

Which words did the post twist?
They said that her saying that if a 300 lb men was attacking her that she'd use more than fists was her saying that she'd stab the athlete. This doesn't say that.

This describes the current president to a 't'. This does not describe Crockett.
Its from both sides. Attacks on federal officers and death threats to their family. Even death threats to the parents of Metcalf. Actual assassinations and attempts due to the spreading of hateful lies to invoke that hatred and action. Its all fueling the hate and division.

Even saying its all from one side is fueling the hate and division.

Its from both sides
The push for vengeance and retribution is the hallmark of the current DOJ leadership. It does not describe Crockett.

No one is saying that it is "all from one side"; I am saying that it is not Crockett who is out for vengeance. That the call for violence comes from the top is concerning. Trying to put it on one representative is hypocritical as well as false.

The OP article is extremely demagogic and it is in the news section rather than the editorial which says everything about this disreputable source.

It's wrong regardless of who says it. But, one must try to understand that frustration from the black community o understand Crockett's tirade.

Blacks face judgment, based on the color of their skin, throughout their lives. Saying that things have gotten better, since the 60's, does not change that it still occurs.

Yes, and this has gotten worse since the Tea Party formed after Obama was elected.
Even saying its all from one side is fueling the hate and division.
Yes, I agree.

But it does make me curious why democrats ignore her wrongdoing. I mean, agreeing with a convicted murderer who just got 35 years in prison? She sure has a knack for choosing the wrong side of things.
In my humble opinion, she's got serious issues. Hoping that she can receive the mental health treatment she is in dire need of presently.

Something strange is happening. People are willing to kill for their beliefs. Theres a hateful divide of opposing sides. I think this has been brewing for some time culturally.

Regardless its decended into a level that is tribal and scary. Hate is the dominant feeling and people are willing to seek revenge and destroy those they disagree with. Its an ideological and culture war across many lines. But mainly class, race, sex and gender.

The bible predicts this

Matthew 24:12 Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

2 Timothy 3:2-5 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
Amen and Amen!

She's not going back to DC, is she? I guess we didn't ignore everything.

It's almost as bad as agreeing with a guy who drove his car into the back of a crowd and killed somebody.
Pretty much.

So what is she saying then because the implication is that she would have used more than her fists which suggests a weapon. Or do you think she would have used her long nails?

Secondly, the victim was not 300 lbs (he was 200lbs.) and was not on top of Anthony but merely shoved him. She is minimizing Anthony’s criminal actions and siding with the nonsense defense that he acted in self defense.

Thirdly, the knife was long enough to enter the victim’s sternum and pierce the heart leaving a 2” gash. It was not about 1” long and a switch blade that was described as serrated. She is again minimizing Anthony’s action by minimizing the weapon.

I think, as an attorney, that she was saying that Kamelo had a right to defend himself against a much larger guy

FWIW:

Just posted the photo below in Christians Only discussions. Went to Walmart for valve stems for mower tires, went to camping, and found the type of knife reputed to have been used in the attack:
