  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You'd have to be living under a rock to not note how technology driven the world is becoming. From AI that's quite literally doing thinking for us, to quantum computers that seem like they're straight out of a sci-fi novel, the world is changing, exponentially. And as that happens, it can become difficult to properly interpret what the Bible says and how it relates to what we're seeing in real time.

But then there's the Mark of the Beast. It's obviously been predicted over 2,000 years ago, and yet what the text seems to be saying has never been closer to being realized. And so my question is, how does it all relate to this ominous prediction which the Bible warns brings with it the most severe of all punishments? (Revelation 14:9-10)

It's always interesting to watch for, and I think blockchain will be part of the system.

What does using biometric money have to do with denying Christ and not having your name in the book of life? Those who worship the beast and have the mark of the beast are those whose names are not written in the book of life (Revelation 13:8)? The mark of the beast is not a physical mark. It is the spiritual opposite of the seal of God, which refers to the seal of the Holy Spirit. It makes no sense to think that having a physical mark can result in not having your name in the book of life and being cast into the lake of fire.

It's a very modern interpretation that Hal Lindsey's book The Late Great Planet Earth published in 1970 really got rolling. That and the advancement of computer technology. I remember in the 70s there was supposed to be some banking supercomputer somewhere called "The Beast". Then when barcode system started being used on everything, having a barcode tattooed on your hand or forehead was going to be "the mark of the beast". And of course "the mark" as progressed along with technology; microchips, RFID, QR codes, biometrics etc. What's being said in the OP video is what's been talked about, especially among Evangelicals, for the last 55 years or so.

Yes, I already knew all of that, but people don't think about the fact that it's only those who worship the beast who have the mark of the beast and that applies to those whose names are not written in the book of life (Revelation 13:8). So, having the mark of the beast means you're not saved and don't have your name written in the book of life. How can a physical mark be a determining factor if someone is saved or not? That makes no sense.

I personally think the Mark will be implicated by implanting microchips under the skin / and doing that there would be no problem using biometric monies.

The government of the US has been seeking ways to eliminate cash since the 1970s, the way has been made possible with credit / debit cards and the rising of digital currency. And if one pays attention, laundromats, grocery stores, car washes, restaurants, some public transportation are upgrading to card only.

How does it relate is to KNOWINGLY be a part of a system that God is against and has warned against. Basically saying one chooses to live easier and feed the flesh while worshiping the Beast instead of standing against and rejecting that which one knows God is against. God knows we have need of food, shelter, clothing, water, medicines, physicians, jobs which are the basic things that the flesh need and the Beast knows it too. The Beast will use this as a means to lure in, man has the natural instinct for survival but God tells us to reject it, even unto death some will but reading scripture most will accept the way of the Beast.

Those who accept the mark of the beast are those whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

It cannot be said that God did not give them a chance to change their minds to repent. That's what it's all about a chance to repent. God already knows the outcome, he already knows whose names are BLOTTED out from the Lamb's Book of Life, yet the opportunity still there to repent until time runs out / cease to exist.

I'm think that the Image of the Beast may be some kind of AI concoction? To answer your questionk, though, anybody who follows the Antichrist in rebellion against Christ will experience Eternal Wrath. That's pretty clear.

I hate to be a killjoy (OK, not really), but the Revelation was written to the 7 Churches in Asia Minor. Says so right there. So so the warning about the Mark of the Beast was being given to them. Duh! So who was The Beast. Nero. "^666", right? "Neron Kaiser". So what was The Mark of the Beast? The chit that proved one had made the legally required sacrifice to The emperor (Nero, remember?) without which one couldn't legally buy or sell. Worst kept secret in history. Yeah, I know, that takes all the fun out of "End Times" doesn't it? Well, it's like that sometimes.

So, be ready for our Lord's return whether His schedule corresponds to yours or not, or be ready to die without any prior warning at all. If you're ready for one, then you'll also be ready for the other.

You're welcome!

Satan uses the same methods again and again, Babylon and the golden idol, Alexander the Great, a man claimed to be God. Nero, required worship. There was Hitler, prayed to, Stalin, personality cult. Biometric money India, many gods, China, coupon money, surveilance state, recognizes your appearance, and so, can watch if you bow to an image or not... monitor your heart rate...

The thing to watch is the grey market. It can range from 6% of the economy up to 60%, depending on the location. The estimates are probably low. For a country to end it with bio-metric currency would be a big strain on the economy. Sooner or later, they will do it, but I doubt it will be very quick. I might be wrong, and it is already started. When it does happen, it is something to worry about. Then the governments or the Anti-Christ will have things in position for complete control. Electronic banking and payments can be a good thing to reduced crime, but it can also be used as a weapon against the average person. I wonder how it will take place.

I think it's misplaced trust in whatever mammon they want us to use and live by. That's what's it's always been, but now they have the added efficacy of technology to by which to augment the pungency of the system.

5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7For the [d]mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only [e]He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

So this is not Nero.

The key factor is the mark of the beast's name.

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

The mark associated with the beast's name will be some sort of symbol, icon.

Here is a diametrically opposite example that we are all familiar with...

....when we see a person wearing a cross on their clothing, who's name do we associate with that cross ?

Jesus, right ?

So, although we don't know what the mark of the beast's name is yet. It will be some symbol, icon, that will be associated with beast's name.

History shows us how it will apply in end-times context. The Anatolian Romans during the reign of Diocletian used a certificate called a libellus during tribunes to test loyalty to Caesar and the Roman gods. The libellus, which is still in use by the Roman Catholic Church for official matters like annulment cases, was a sign or mark that an act of worship had been conducted and officiated by the tribune. People were not allowed to conduct business without first showing the libellus. So the mark of the beast is evidence of worship of the beast.

Here, I think, is where many people get tripped up. The mark is either on the forehead or right hand, indicating a confession or deed of the beast. This interpretation is supported throughout Revelation, but most notably in Revelation 12:17. The offspring of the woman keep the testimony of Jesus (forehead) and obey His commands (right hand). So those who worship the beast testify of the beast and/or obey his commands.

Finally, on to the technology question. I believe that the world's currencies are headed toward centralized crypto-currency. This is death-nail for organized crime and terrorism. Gone will be the days that bipartisan benefactors can fund subversion and supply untracked weapons. Offshore accounts will be traceable. Revelation 11:40-45 shows the beast will control gold, so the currency will be fully controlled. With currency in full control of the beast, it can be withheld from people the beast does not agree with. When the beast becomes the beast, this will happen.

The beast's name is messiah, but only when the kingdoms of the world give over their royal authority.

Messias, the Greek transliteration for messiah adds up to 656. Jesus said His kingdom was not of this world. The kingdoms of the world have the mathematical value of 10. I'll explain how.

Daniel 7 shows four beasts with a combined total of seven heads. After the fourth beast, ten horns take power. The ten horns are the combination of all four beasts. 1+2+3+4=10.

So combining the number 10 with the value of messias (656) adds up to 666. And Jesus warned His disciples in the Olivet Discourse to beware of people coming in His name saying they are the Christ, but are not.

Hi Baracco

Your first passage I believe you meant Revelation 13:17. Interesting context on the libellus I agree with you there. It is clear that the mark will be some kind of physical mark, so I don't think we need to worry about biometric identification which uses our existing biology like fingerprint, retina etc.

The second passage you quote in Revelation 11 doesn't exist, I have no idea which passage you are referencing. I am not an expert on cryptocurrency but I would be very surprised if what you have written comes to pass. At the moment people seem to use cryptocurrency partly because it is relatively untraceable - not sure how it can be both "crypto" and "traceable".

I don't understand your numerology. You can make anything add up to 666, I expect when the time comes it will be a lot clearer than that.

I wouldn't say the Mark is biometric money. But biometric money may be what is used instead of cash that way all dealings can be kept up with by whatever government is in control.

I think the mark is the microchip implanted under the skin in the hand or under the skin of the forehead.

I don't understand your numerology. You can make anything add up to 666, I expect when the time comes it will be a lot clearer than that.
On the first part, I actually meant Revelation 12:17. That passage shows us how the offspring of the woman witness. They witness of Christ by testimony and deed. Those who take the mark of the beast witness of the false messiah by their testimony and deed.

On the second part, I meant Daniel 11:40-45. I don't think the mark is a physical mark on the body. Deuteronomy 6 suggests such a mark is spiritual. And Revelation 7 shows the 144,000 being sealed with the seal of God. Not a physical seal.

I thought the numerology was clear. M = 40, e = 5, s = 200, s = 200, I = 10, a = 1, and s = 200. That totals up to 656. The four beasts from Daniel 7 combined as one kingdom gives us seven heads and ten horns. 1+2+3+4 = 10. Beast number 3 had four heads. Jesus said His kingdom is not of this world. The four beasts are kingdoms of this world. At the seventh trumpet, it is announced that the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our God and His Christ.

So 666 = The world's messiah (rather than the Messiah God chose). He is the worthless shepherd from Zechariah 11:15-17. Those who don't repent will be given into his hand.
