I wonder how the Republicans of today would deal with elections that took so long, the President was Inaugurated in March rather than January as it is now? That is they way it was prior to 1937 because election results took so long to get counted.

Lots of countries still count all their ballots by hand every election and get it done in time.

I think it’s time to put a new amendment in the Constitution. States get to control state elections, the federal government gets to control federal elections. When each state gets to set boundaries that interfere with federal elections, then it is time to take that privilege away from them.

Trump is the first person in a long list of recent presidents who has been for America first, and actually spends time talking to, and listening to, everyday people. I know the left doesn’t like policies that put Americans first, or policies that keep American’s safe, or policies that try to lower the federal footprint in our lives (both politically and economically), y’all fight those things tooth and nail, but lots of us appreciate it.

California is larger that most of those countries.
States do get to control elections and the LA mayor election was a state election.

Trump and his family made money before during and after his being President. No one in the past has taken a vow of poverty before serving in public office. Have Pelosi and Omar made any money while in office? How many politicians besides Trump can you name that donate their salary to charity?

Who is saying no chance for fraud? That is never the argument, but the opposing argument is that mailed ballots are being used in coordinated efforts to steal elections. I haven’t seen any explanation on how that is supposed to work despite the claims that it is obvious and out in the open.

Which of the states listed above is having major issues with fraud due to sending everyone a ballot? Have you looked into the security and verification process for any of these states?

Laziness is not a legitimate reason for mail in voting. Handicaped persons, military abroad, people who work abroad or because of travel have a legitimate reason to REQUEST a mail in ballot. Random mailing of ballots should be made illegal Federally.

Or we could let the states decide how they wish to run their elections. What works for one state doesn’t necessarily work for another. That’s why we have the system we have.

Let states run state and local elections but there needs to be some Federal uniformity for Federal elections.

Who cares what reason a person has for wanting a mail in ballot. And laziness? Come on, just not voting at all could be called lazy, but taking the time to vote by mail is not laziness.

My experience is with Colorado. It’s not random mailing of ballots, all registered voters receive a ballot by mail. There are multiple options on how to return it- mail, drop box, in person, also available is in person voting at a polling location. How “lazy” of my state to give ample time and opportunity to vote. What a travesty to increase voter participation.

How ballots are handled is constitutionally a state power.
