Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, immediately condemned the deal. He told reporters it “would be a disaster. Everything accomplished by Operation Epic Fury would be for naught.” Wicker urged Trump to “allow America’s skilled armed forces to finish the destruction of Iran’s conventional military capabilities and reopen the strait. Further pursuit of an agreement with Iran’s Islamist regime risks a perception of weakness. We must finish what we started. It is past time for action.”

Oh, keep your shirt on. It has a cromulent meaning in politics derived from the term "war hawk", and this is the only meaning that makes sense in this context.

Chickenhawk (chicken hawk or chicken-hawk) is a political term used in the United States to describe a person who is a war hawk yet actively avoids or avoided military service when of age.

There's a lot of other derogatory words we don't use here, because they *also* mean something else.

Any way you slice it, "chickenhawk" is either an insult, or a vulgarity. I feel offended by it's use here on this site, and anywhere!

I used it in this context: (I was not aware of the other meaning)

Chicken Hawk: A derogatory term for a politician who aggressively supports waging war but personally avoided military service during their youth

In any case, I replaced the term.
I have also realized Sen Wicker is an Air Force veteran...so the term would not apply. In any case, he, and others like him who think the U.S. can win by applying additional force are in denial of the reality.

The New York Times reported that part of the deal on the table includes a $300 billion investment fund to help rebuild Iran at the end of the war [sic].

"Unlike Obama unfreezing $1.7 billion in Iranian funds held since the 1979 revolution, Trump is offering Iran a $300 billion outright bribe to let him get out of the mess of the war he started so he can claim a victory and move on," Damon Linker, a political science lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, posted on X.

[That said, excursion reparations are probably in order.]

I remember when pre-president and citizen Trump, warned Barack Hussien Obama was going to get American in a war with Iran because he can't negotiate. Now fast forward the Trump/Harris debate, where Trump warned the world that a President Harris would start a war with Iran and ruin the economy. He's like the president of projection.

The Iranian army said its attacks responded to locations from which missiles or attacks on Iranian facilities and the Iranian navy have been conducted.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Kuwait and Bahrain bear responsibility for the Iranian attacks on U.S. facilities on their soil, because they allowed the U.S. to use bases on their land to commit an aggression against Iran.

63 people injured in Kuwait by Iranian attack, ministry says

Dozens of people were injured in the Iranian drone attack at Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, the country’s Ministry of Health said.

The injuries "encompass a range of severe and multiple injuries, including fractures, head injuries, cerebral hemorrhages, amputations and injuries resulting from explosions, in addition to cases of smoke inhalation," the statement said.

[Kuwait reports one dead, not necessarily at the airport attack.]

Not as certain a thing as it used to be. 4 GOP senators crossed the aisle to advance the vote on a similar resolution.

However, there's clearly not enough support to override a presidential veto.
