Struggling to be patient in prayer

Pray for more patience !

You know the verse "if we ask anything according to His will He hears us - and if we know that if He hears us, We know that he grants the request that we ask. (1 John 5)

So first identify His will...

Does He want you to have more Patience?

Obviously yes.

Then ask for it with the confidence that He will grant the request as He has stated.

I need some advice when it comes to patience in prayer. I sometimes avoid asking questions in prayer because I have trouble waiting for an answer. For the most part, the only times that I have any kind of "conversation" with Jesus are when I am driving or in my bed to go to sleep. I would suggest that you learn to put some things between you and God on a shelf. In practice this means ask all the important questions but be willing to wait or even wrestle for answers. God does not hide answers or make you wait without a reason. It is important to also get yourself in a position to hear from God. How do you do that? I would suggest build your faith on scriptures that take up the topic of how to hear from God. There are some good books on this as well.

Secondly, if the answers are important keep knocking. Daniel fasted days to get the answer to come. How important are some questions to you? By positioning for God to speak, you too will change. Hindrances like unforgiveness, sin, and poor doctrine sometimes are culprits keeping someone from hearing. I also like the proverb "a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." Those kinds of words can come from God. Faith to save is always better then gold but when we are at crossroads in our Christian walk, the Holy Spirit's help can be critical for direction, safety and for ministry to others.

Lastly, keep in mind that the devil is a great distractor and deceiver. The sheep hear God's voice though and i pray you will have a breakthrough in this area of your fellowship with God.
