The supposed shortcuts AI offers not only encourage laziness, but often result in acceptance of very low standards. This happens enough of the time to earn well-deserved distrust and dismissal. Look at AI assisted videos if you haven't seen them.

AI more often than not offers promises that it can't keep. It also offers an easy way to get results, leading to all sorts of developmental problems. Like kids using it to write papers for them. They believe the lies. Why not use it to write your papers? Why bother to do the work yourself?

We, as a country, are getting stupider and stupider, with lower and lower standards. AI is generously helping with that.
