  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evangelist and social media influencer Bryce Crawford has landed the first one-on-one scheduled sit-down interview with televangelist Kenneth Copeland in more than 15 years.

In the over two-hour-long podcast, Crawford, 22, told the 89-year-old Copeland he disagreed with the pastor’s trademark “prosperity gospel,” but remained cordial despite the disagreements.

The discussion covers Copeland's childhood in Texas during the Great Depression, meeting and marrying his wife, Gloria, in 1961, and his subsequent conversion and ministry start in the mid-1960s, when he founded Kenneth Copeland Ministries.

It then shifts to deep Bible study on the definition of prosperity, redemption from the curse of the law, tithing, divine health and the “word of faith” teaching.

“Did you check and see what that was? What the thorn exactly was?” Copeland shot back. “It was the care and worry about all the churches. That was the thorn in his side.”
Seems a weird interpretation, one I have never heard preached. Would Paul ask three times to be relieved of his duties? Worry too is a sin. So I am not buying Copeland's logic.

Honestly, Kenneth Copeland, is kinda creepy in my humble opinion.
He sometimes seems quite angry when people criticize his lavish and richly abundant lifestyle. Makes me of think of the saying of Jesus how it is easier for a camel to pass through an eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven. Or how Jesus told the rich man to sell his many possessions, and went away sad.

The preacher has been married three times and divorced twice. In 1967, Copeland and his current wife, Gloria, founded Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) and committed themselves to preaching across the nations. In 1975, KCM launched its radio ministry.

I know he's part of Word of Faith. I think that theology is similar to Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, and Joel Osteen. IIRC.

I agree he has become creepy looking. Many would agree.
Some (Protestants) even believe he has become demonized.
His wife now is showing serious signs of dementia.
When discussing the Copelands, what they probably need most at this time is prayer.

Word of Faith aka Prosperity Gospel is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in my humble opinion. "" Tickling of the ears " is what is taking place in many Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian churches across America and in other countries. This is my humble opinion and I'm a Charismatic Christian and have been since being a young boy.

I don’t agree with their theology.
