  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I apologize if I have offended anyone, but I do strongly believe that ICE policy is purposely racist.

I do believe that ICE policie are racist. I do not believe that folks of different races are being treated in the same way. But it is redistricting that is the topic of the day.

I do NOT believe that one's race determines his politics or should.

I do not believe that Hispanics (or blacks or whites) all vote the same or should. Democrats lost many elections in 2024 by making such a silly assumption.

As I said, I don't believe that ICE officers treat folks of different races the same. From my experience living across the country and being part of the politics changes from as far back as the 60's, I know that law enforcement often discriminates based on race. Most officers do not.

I now live in SC where the map will change either this year or next. The attempt will be to follow the new rules and make districts as favorable to Republicans as possible. And yes, this will likely mean that our one black rep will be gone; he likely will retire. However, SC politics being what they are, we will likely have a Republican black member in one or two of the districts. Instead of one district being very responsive to blacks, 3 will now need to struggle to meet the needs of minority votes. We have a black senator. We have had an Indian governor. Both ran for president. When there was a horrible racist shooting in a black church a few years ago, there were no riots, not even much demonstrating. We came together and prayed together. Of course, we have racists among us, but they are not our leaders and the actions of our leaders are not racist. They may be very misguided, but that is another matter.

Kavanah Stops aka racial profiling.
Kavanaugh Stop (sometimes Kavanaugh stop) refers to an immigration stop or detainment by an ICE or Border Patrol agent of a person based on that person's perceived racial or ethnic characteristics or behavior, such as how they look, the language they speak, or where they work.

Correct most are not. Unfortunately the ICE agents has to deal with a multiple of different nationalities. But in law enforcement I identifying race is common. First thing cops want to know is how tall and what race. (male or female but that may not be the case in today's lunacy)

Who is treated worse and who is second?

The very moment 10,000,000 Scandinavians cross the boarder illegally - ICE will be stopping blond haired blue eyed people.

That's just my opinion.

As for districting - I believe party, not race should be a determining factor.

Yes unfortunately, if everyone came in legally we wouldn't need ICE agents to whine about.
Even if immigrants did wait their turn and follow the strange, arbitrary and draconian rules that can mystify even immigration attorneys…there would still be the need for ICE agents.

But I get and partially agree with your point.
Let’s have Congress do comprehensive immigration reform, so that the system gets streamlined and rather than thwart good, honest people at every turn, help and encourage them to “do it the right way”.

It'll take you and I and millions others to demand new immigration laws from Congress because so far all those human trafficked are political footballs. Maybe the millinials will see one in their lifetime I'm beginning to lose hope.

Clocked what something from a delusion?
I mean, if you're having a delusion then it would explain your Freudian slip but, I'm sorry, I'm not sure that excuses what you said.

Unfortunately.

They are preferred, even it means making up a lie as why they should come here legally. Their only criteria? They are white.
Every city has their enclave of ethnic bastions including those from Europe.
ICE is not hanging out there stopping people if they don't speak English.

That means they came in legally - like my parents who were not white.
Which means they are white which Trump prefers. And again, they are so white Trump is willing to lie about the legal justification.
Thousands of white expats head back to SA despite Trump’s ‘persecution’ claims
And the mean time brown people from countries where REAL persecution is taking place have their status removed by Trump.
So as they use to say back in the day, for Trump, "that's mighty white of you"

So it is a non issue if they are not staying, but it is a chance to accuse our President of racism - is that correct?

As a fellow 'brown person' - we are really getting tired of being trotted out as your victims. I'd say more, but it would not end well for me.

Really - where? link where the President ever said that.

Accuse? I let his actions speak for himself.
And yes, brown people seeking asylum are being kicked out by Trump and whites welcomed, despite you yourself being brown.
It is not coincidence the man who tells his project manager to hide black sub contractor workers has a racial preference.

How many have come in illegally?
The point is that they had lost their white privilege.
Their distress is nowhere near comparable to the legally admitted refugees from Haiti, who became the source of a vicious disinformation campaign while Trump was running for president.
Legally admitted refugees are being deported in large numbers because of their ethnic backgrounds, while white South Africans with minor problems are courted.
