  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it lack of sin or love kindness and mercy

Obey the Ten Commandments. We don’t have to sin anymore it’s a choice and we are in Christ Jesus. Do we continue in sin the grace may abound. Certainly not! Is Paul’s answer. I think that’s Gnosticism.

I think I've read or listened to the bible more than anyone you can find, and you sin.
I started reading it in 1982 I met people like you in Church, and they drove me away from God, like you're doing to some people.

You are not Jesus, and you sin too. Only you’re not trying to be perfect (holy) like Him. I said it in my last post, ‘do we continue in sin’. Sorry im in a good mood today. Don’t mean to sound offensive. The scripture speaks on this all the way through and the NT takes precedent. The Jews had a lot of rules like you said. But we have the law of love which fulfills the whole law and the Ten Commandments. God is our standard and that’s the minimum requirement. That’s how we and God sanctify us.

From what you said it sounds like you agree. Let me show you how to be like Jesus.

Your interaction in the above posts seems like you are arguing for sinning and not repenting and giving it to God. It says He can take away our sin so we don’t infringe on His ‘cheap grace’. Maybe we are on the same side idk.

A multitude is about a thousand, from what I read.

If you sow love you reap love, same with kindness and mercy.

Keeping God morals is love, sinning is not love.
Jesus saves us, make us able to live a new life, however we need to put an effort to stop any serious sin with his help.

Cheap grace is what you are advocating. Not so said the blind man. We could go on too long and you won’t change. Your friend is right. A multitude is 5000.

Replying on the post- header

Love, kindness, and mercy leads to far less sin. Man doesn't have the Grit to have a lack of sin.

Man is sinful by nature and all have sinned.

Is it lack of sin or love kindness and mercy
Possibly, it is like this > if you are unhealthy, you can not just remove the unhealthiness.

You need medicine, maybe, and eating certain food and exercise. And you grow in your health.

"Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)

"as He is" is without sin. "in this world" is here on earth in this life.

So . . . can we live without sinning? With God all things are possible.

"The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." (in Luke 18:27)

But do I live without sin? No. But it is possible with God, I am sure. So, I offer myself to God, and I offer any other person, for what is possible with Him . . . easily possible.

And how does this work, for me? I would say God has not totally cleared me of ability to sin. But He can. So, I leave this to Him >

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

And love others as myself, by offering any other person, also, to God, for all the good that is possible with God. Be all-loving in my prayer.

And while I am busy with loving . . . do you think I am going to sin, at the same time??

So . . . my offering is > grow in Jesus so we are more and more busy with loving.

And keep your forgiving up-to-date.

As we forgive, we can reap what is forgiveness in love. Make sure our forgiving is not only in order to get myself taken care of, but really care about others > feel for how they are while they are sinning. There is "the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience," our Apostle Paul does say, in Ephesians 2:2. So, if anyone disobeys God, anyhow, I dare consider that the person is being worked-in by Satan's evil spirit. And Satan's evil and selfish spirit is nasty and negative and naughty and numbskulling, with emotions and feelings and drives and ways of reacting that are horrible. So, any sinning has a person sharing with Satan in his horrible and dirty spirit; and so no sin is safe. And so, I need to feel for and care for and have hope for any person who is sinning > have compassion. Because any sin is in sharing with Satan and his evil spirit, and this messes people and ruins how they are relating, and they are missing out on enjoying Jesus in His "rest for your souls." (in Matthew 11:29)

So, we should have compassion for people who are suffering in their sinning.

And one scripture that can help us to do better, I would say, with this, is Philippians 2:14 >

"Do all things without complaining and disputing," (Philippians 2:14)

God commands that we do "all things" > "without" > meaning none, at all > "without complaining and disputing". I offer this includes **arguing**; arguing is anti-God and anti-love, then. And so, by depending on God to stop our arguing, this can make us stronger in love so our relating in close relationships gets more and more personal and sensitive and tender and freely and generously forgiving.

And so, the process is that God Almighty gets rid of what in us can cause us to argue. And His love with almighty power makes us strong and sensitive against anti-love stuff, and His love makes us creative, instead . . . including how we are guided by our Creator in His peace.

Yes, we are commanded to be ruled by God in His own peace > this is a basic of our Christian calling >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

If you are "ruled", this is all the time, right? Yes, God wants us to be ruled in His own peace, in such sharing with Him . . . since this is in His own peace.

And this can help to make sure Satan's evil spirit can't get the better of us. Because God in this peace is almighty to protect us but also to make us creative for how to love any person, while so personally sharing with Him.
