CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Which is stretching it, given Trump isn't wearing surgical blues or the white robe/schmock/whatever you call it. I don't think he was comparing himself to Jesus, but I do think he wants to be worshiped, and not even deep down.

There is no way Trump is the "antichrist". That term is someone who goes AGAINST Christ, not credits God for saving him during that assassination attempt. As an example, Titus the Roman Emperor who was an "antichrist" worshiped the Roman Pantheon (Juno, Mars, etc), destroyed the 2nd temple and killed a lot of Jews. We need to learn from history and stop labeling people the "antichrist" just because you don't like them.

Unsurprisigly, today is another new day, another new lie for Trump. He said that Pope Leo said that Iran can have a nuclear weapon. Pope Leo never said any such thing.

FYI a lie is when you know something is false in order to deceive.
Trump was saying that the Pope was "implying" that Iran could have a nuclear weapon by opposing the US stopping them.
Trump knows that Pope Leo didn't explicitly say this, but that would be the result if Iran wasn't stopped. To say
Trump lied is what the left says as a result of having Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Pope Leo first stated that God doesn't listen to leaders who wage war. Did Pope Leo lie when he said this? How does Pope Leo know what prayers God hears?
What about WWII, did God not hear the prayers from the people who prayed for peace but supported stopping Hitler? Jews would have a different opinion.

I know what a lie is and the Pope did not imply, nor did Trump misunderstand him and think he was implying any such thing. One of the reasons Trump continues to behave like he does is because people make excuses for him.

That is my point.
Iran was enriching uranium to create a bomb, and they were about ten weeks from having one.
If they got the nuclear bomb, they would've launched it toward Israel as they promised and possibly toward
the US.
Not being in favor of stopping them was akin to allow them to have one. You can not remain nuetral in such circumstances
and God often hears the prayers of humans and works through humans to solve human problems.

God told us how to solve human problems. To love neighbour as self including enemies. Would any nation be more prone to attack friends o enemies. Where first is the attempts in this world to be friends, instead of everything revolving around control, power, money or resources. We are not following God's will and deserve the results. Imagine the outcry from a certain country if the Us tried to befriend Iran.

Is it? We use the term, "made a statement" here in the UK, too. Perhaps you meant that "made a statement" has a different meaning in America to what it does in other English-speaking countries.
