That sounds like a kid saying “but he started it.” It’s irrelevant to the fact that the mullahs have considered the US to be an enemy for nearly half a century, and there was never a reason not to take them at their word.
That has been the line for some time with the “this started 47 years ago!” Nonsense to try to square the circle of this not being a war and not going against the no wars plank trump ran on.
No one has suggested otherwise.
We have also supported Israel and the mullahs have a hatred for Jews. Don’t discount that. And all that is irrelevant to the simple fact that the mullahs have called us their enemy for almost half a century. There is no reason to think the were only joking.
I expect they face discrimination, but Iran has the largest Jewish population in the Middle East (apart from Israel, obviously). Not that it's huge or anything.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you refer to the Anglo-American culture of the United states. What specific values are under threat?
First, let me say that I'm not in favor of dumping Anglo-American culture. It's a boat that floats--successfully--even though it needs patching and some course correction. And Anglo-American culture is the major ingredient of black American culture.
