"President Donald Trump on Friday officially requested $1.5 trillion in spending for the Pentagon next fiscal year, which would be the largest defense budget in U.S. history.

Trump also outlined some $73 billion in cuts to nondefense federal spending, including cuts to health research, K-12 and higher education, renewable energy and climate grants, a low-income housing energy program, and community development block grants. The cuts to nondefense spending represent a 10 percent reduction from the current fiscal year."

I propose: Bring the U.S. Military home and CUT the Defense budget by 40%. After all, America is supposed to be FIRST.

It's not easy for our military to defend the country when they're isolating at home and are underfunded by 40%.
Give our service men/women what they need to do their job.

I know. Gee, if only someone had managed to get the Iranians to agree to decrease the amount of enriched uranium it has by 97% and to mothball a lot of their centrifuges. They could have agreed to inspections and there'd be threats of sanctions for non compliance. Why oh why didn't someone think of doing it?

Can you explain that? And explain what you're going to do with the over 400kg of enriched uranium they now have hidden?

If your service people can't "do their job" with the current defense budget, they can't do it with any amount of money. At some point you're just throwing more money out the window.

The fact is that the way wars are fought today has shifted so that attacking a country that is able to defend itself is vastly more difficult and costly than it is for that country to defend itself. This is why Ukraine has been able to fight Russia to a standstill for four years, and it is also why Iran is now winning against the USA. You don't need nukes today, drones are far stronger than those.

The solution is easy: don't attack. Not unless you have a solution for your enemy striking you with a 20k weapon that doesn't involve spending millions.

I bet that in the secrecy of North Korea and in China's slave camps, they have developed and are producing their own stockpile of drones, and the USA better get on the program instead of building missiles for "decapitation strikes".

Besides that, what your service people actually need is to be supported after they fought wars for you. But they just get discarded the moment they are no longer useful.

LOL! It's funny that you believe Iran is winning! Granted, the Iranian Navy has managed to seize half of the Persian Gulf (the lower half), and their Air Force is, well it's irrelevant now. But at least their propaganda machine is doing pretty well at making people (who hate Trump so much) believe that Iran is "winning".

What on Earth are you talking about? Pakistan was known to be developing them, as was India and North Korea. The intelligence community was saying the exact opposite of what it's now saying of Iran.
