  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A journalist left Whoopi Goldberg speechless after brutally fact-checking her live on The View after she attempted to bash Donald Trump.

Financial news anchor Sara Eisen from CNBC appeared on the talk show on Thursday, where the panel quickly descended into squabbling over Trump's tariffs.

Goldberg asked her: 'It seems that the market doesn't really pay attention to who is president, the market does what it does.'

Eisen responded matter-of-factly: 'The market likes who is president. There's a lot of upbeat sentiment from companies and from investors about policies that are helpful for growth.'

Seemingly looking for something negative to talk about, Sunny Hostin interrupted Eisen, who was in full swing, asking: 'Do you think the tariffs are helpful for growth?'

'The tariffs usually wouldn't be helpful for growth, but they haven't been as bad as everybody expected', Eisen said.

'The market likes who is president. There's a lot of upbeat sentiment from companies and from investors about policies that are helpful for growth.'

- Sara Elsen, NBC financial news anchor

The facts support Whoopi - irrespective of the supposed sentiments attributed to the stock market, companies and investors, the fact remains that "ALL IS NOT WELL in TRUMPLAND" when a President's approval ratings descends into the mid 30's - particularly during an election year!

This "APPROVAL RATING" can be largely attributed to "AFFORDABILITY," an issue that Trump contends he has already solved and now attributes to nothing more than a Democratic ploy!

The President's lengthy "Stste of the Union Address" effectively ignored this growing unrest stemming from an electorate faced with the growing divide between prices and wages - apparently Trump has forgotten as to why Biden and the Democrats lost the 2024 Election!

Even Sara Elsen's optimistic appraisal of the business community's support for Trump has long been open to question
- 23 Nobel prize-winning economists signed a letter warning of the negative impact that Trump's tariffs would on the US and world economies
- "Business groups, economists sound the alarm over Trump's incoming tariffs ..." - Business Executive Feb 2025
- "Over 1500 Economists Agree; Trump's Tariffs are Terrible" - Reason Magazine April 2025
- "Major Investors, CEOs, economists lash out at Trump tariffs" - Financial Post, April 2025

ECONOMISTS CAN DISAGREE ON MANY THINGS BUT TRUMP's USE OF TARIFFS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!
