No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. FBI Ousts Leader as Patel Fumes Over Attention to Agency Jet Use

The FBI forced out a senior official overseeing aviation shortly after Director Kash Patel grew outraged about revelations of his publicly-available jet logs indicating he’d flown to see his musician girlfriend perform, said three people familiar with the situation.

Steven Palmer, a 27-year veteran of the FBI, became the third head of the critical incident response group—which includes FBI pilots—to be fired or removed in Patel’s short regime, adding to a year filled with retributive terminations.

Palmer’s position included supervising the FBI’s aviation units, but Patel’s flight schedule was readily traceable through online tracking services and he reposted photos of himself with Wilkins at the event on his personal X account.

The people familiar with the matter said they were baffled as to why Patel might’ve blamed Palmer for the travel details.

FBI directors are required to use government aircraft for personal or business travel in order to maintain secure communications. But public attention of Patel’s weekend outing—fueled by an X post from a former FBI agent turned outspoken Patel critic—comes after Patel had criticized predecessors for personal travel on taxpayer-funded jets.

Patel shared on X an Oct. 30 post from his spokesman, which said articles and opposition to the director’s travel were “disingenuous and dumb” and “bad faith whining.”

[Just a note that, for commercial/philanthropic purposes, Patel styles himself thus as K$H]

Patel defends FBI leadership, jet use: ‘I’m entitled to a personal life’

On Tuesday, House Democrats also launched an investigation into his jet usage, asking the FBI to turn over all flight records amid reports of Patel’s “date night” travels with his girlfriend and to sporting events as well as a hunting retreat called Boondoggle Ranch.

House Democrats on Tuesday slammed Patel for using the jet to meet his girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, at an event where she performed before flying back to her home in Nashville. They also noted various trips to sporting events and the hunting trip as well as Patel’s efforts to remove the FBI jet from the flight tracking site Flight Aware.

“I’ve also used the airplane less than my prior two predecessors. And, yes, I’m entitled to a personal life just like my other agency counterparts with their partners. Do I support my girlfriend? Absolutely. And I do take trips with her? Absolutely,” he said.

Kash Patel ordered FBI detail to give girlfriend’s pal a lift home: sources

Patel’s girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, asked FBI agents on her security team at least two times, including once this spring, to drive her friend home, and agents objected to diverting from their assignment, said the sources, who were granted anonymity to discuss nonpublic matters. But Patel insisted they do as Wilkins requested and in one case called the leader of Wilkins’ security detail and yelled at him to do so.

FBI spokesperson Ben Williamson broadly disputed that such events took place.

“This is made up and did not happen,” Williamson said.

At Patel’s direction, the FBI provides a separate security detail for Wilkins, 27, a country music performer who lives part time in Nashville for her work. The FBI security detail, first reported by MS NOW, is made up of members of an elite SWAT team based in the area. It has spurred concerns about Patel abusing FBI resources to essentially drive his girlfriend around for various events and appointments. The FBI has never before provided a separate security detail for a director’s girlfriend. Spouses of past directors typically received episodic security protection, but only when they were traveling with their spouse and the director’s detail.

Kash Patel’s new ride of choice: An armored luxury BMW

The FBI director, who is under fire for use of government resources, also asked for an upgraded jet.

FBI directors, protected by a security detail, have traditionally been driven in a Chevrolet Suburban — whether for meetings, evening events or their daily commute.

Patel is the first director to have use of this specialized foreign-branded vehicle, law enforcement personnel told MS NOW. [State department diplomats use them in high-risk foreign environments.]

BMW makes cars in this country with US labor for our market as well as for export. Maybe his new car is an "American" car after all.

FBI Director Kash Patel takes agency jet to Italy, plans to attend Olympic hockey games, sources say

Sources also confirmed to CBS News that Patel was en route to Milan, where he is planning to watch the Men's USA Olympic hockey team compete in the medal rounds. Patel separately sent several posts on social media on Thursday morning in support of the American hockey teams. Patel's plane landed in Italy Thursday evening, local time, according to a source at Flight Radar 24.

As part of the trip, Patel is also scheduled to take part in meetings with law enforcement counterparts in Italy, one of the sources added.

FBI spokesperson Ben Williamson, who did not respond to requests for information about the trip before CBS News published this article, said on X afterward, "{I}t's not a personal trip."

Williamson then added in a subsequent post: "Kash just called me and told me to add 'Please tell them yes, I am rooting for the greatest team on earth from the greatest country on earth. Go Team USA.'

FBI Director Kash Patel joins Team USA hockey in locker room celebration after gold medal win

Patel was in Italy for meetings prior to the game, an FBI spokesperson said.

Patel on Sunday evening posted on social media a statement, which he said was for "the very concerned media."

"[Y]es, I love America and was extremely humbled when my friends, the newly minted Gold Medal winners on Team USA, invited me into the locker room to celebrate this historic moment with the boys -- Greatest country on earth and greatest sport on earth," he said in the post.

A video obtained by ABC News showed Patel wearing a USA shirt in the locker room, where he’s seen singing along with members of the team. After he takes a swig, shakes his bottle and pounds the table, a member of the team places a gold medal around his neck.

Give him a break. It’s probably the only time he’s been invited into a locker room without then being stuffed into a locker by the jocks.

FBI scrambles as leak reveals Kash Patel's 'long segments of leisure time'

FBI Director Kash Patel’s taxpayer-funded trip to Italy that culminated with him chugging beer with the U.S. hockey team was revealed Wednesday to have included “long segments of personal and leisure time” after the leak of an internal schedule, a leak that the FBI condemned as a “criminal act,” The New York Times reported.

After the Times obtained an internal schedule for Patel’s trip, however, it was revealed that long stretches of time were earmarked for things like “personal time” or “cultural activities.” In response to the leak, the FBI vowed to hold the leaker accountable.

On Saturday, for instance, Patel’s schedule included a single 20-minute briefing with the Olympic security team, a brief tour of the “joint security operations center,” and a private lunch with an unlisted guest.

“The period between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. was reserved for what was listed as ‘personal time/cultural activities,’ followed by a private dinner with unspecified companions,” the Times report reads.
