  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes. Didn't you read the article?
I did (I'm assuming we talk about the one I linked), the only reference to the danish king is that he visited the island last week. He never opined on the healthcare situation. Why the snark?
The argument was already laid out. Free healthcare doesn't automatically equate to it being quality healthcare.
It doesn't automatically equate to non-quality healthcare either, so are you contending that Greenlanders don't receive quality healthcare or not?

If you’ve paid attention, “lack of the perception of ‘gratitude’”, is a cause for “action” in this Administration.
Nothing new in the american mindset. I remember when I posted a thread about poor countries rejection clothing donations because those donations are then sold on their markets and destroy their own textile industry, and the general response from conservative posters was "well, if they don't want our clothing donations, let's stop helping them entirely".

It reminds me of a psychopaths idea of helping someone. They might tell themselves that they try to help, but only how they want to, not how it is actually required, and they react violently to any rejection of the undesired "help".

My contention is they might be in need of that hospital boat.

I believe that the stunt with the hospital ship is to put Denmark in an impossible situation. If they accept the ship, then Trump can point out that the health service is inadequate in Greenland (it isn't). If they refuse, then he can lash out to those cruel Danes who block healthcare for Greenlanders, even when it is offered for free. Either way, Trump wins.
The ships have to leave port first.

Back to the my earlier question then, why should we believe you over the Greenland government? Or in short, why do you contend that?

I contend that because it might be the situation.

O course it is possible in the sense that there in no inherent contradiction. Do you believe it to be the case that they need the hospital boat?
It's possible that the citizens of Greenland might benefit from the arrival of a US hospital boat.

That was not what I asked though, do you believe it to be the case that they need the hospital boat? If you don't want to answer just don't answer, or say so.

I’d put money on it being better than America’s world renowned awful wealth based system of health care allocation.

What I believe is that it is a possibility. You seem to want me to give an answer that’s not within the scope of my contention.

Pity they’re currently being refit and not ready to help.
