CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have already done that. I post one every day from the very real NOAA Goes satellite that takes the pictures for weather predicting used by virtually every weather predicting agency in the world. If weather predicting is happening around the world and the data from the NOAA Goes satellite is used to predict the weather then the pictures are real pictures used to predict the weather by virtually all weather predicting agencies around the world. Therefore the pictures are real.
Prove me wrong.

That doesn’t make any sense. How could the weather maps of fronts and cloud cover on your weather broadcast match the NOAA image perfectly if the weather maps did not come from the satellite image? There is no way to create the satellite image with the observations from the surface. You could do it with small areas over land but not over the ocean. Simply saying something doesn’t exist is not an argument. You need to prove your claim. Out of the 30+ proofs that the earth is a globe, Hentenza’s NOAA images are in the top 10.

Yes, just like your digital camera works and like the pictures in a digital TV. Very few people these days use actual film to take pictures. Secondly the images generated by the NOAA Goes satellites are used to actually predict weather therefore the pictures, by necessity. have to be real and realtime otherwise they would be worthless to predict weather. This is why the NOAA Goes satellites takes a picture of the spherical earth every 15 minutes. So you have already acknowledged that the satellites are real and you have already acknowledged how the digital pictures are made so now your only option is to prove that weather agencies around the world do not predict the weather using data from the NOAA Goes satellite.

The total flight time of a weather balloon is about 1.5 to 2 hours. It can reach an altitude about twice that of a commercial jet. A weather balloon can only photograph about 0.15% of the earth’s surface. That would mean that it would take about 333 balloons to cover half the earth. That is about 4000 balloons per day. How many weather balloons have you seen? One flight cost about $500. That is about $2m per day if you wanted to cover half the earth. It doesn’t happen.

Yep, just like your digital camera, which scans the CCD sensor in the back of your camera which is sensitive to visible light in the red, green and blue spectrum. The ABI has sensors sensitive to various spectrums ranging from visible to near infrared to deep infrared. At its core it is just a very sensitive digital camera.

Actually, if you take your cellphone or digital camera and focus it on the IR light on one of your remote controls and push a button, you can see the IR LED flash on the screen of the camera.
