Um...I think my mom is using The Bible to judge people...

We have to learn not to criticize others; explaining the word of God makes some people angry, If that happens, leave them alone. Pray for them. Be sure to encourage people when they do good.

People who abuse their children and claim to be Christians are not Christians.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

God is love but where in the Bible do you see where God loves us unconditionally?
God is a just God and he will punish the sinner! "For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity:" (Isaiah 26:21) Why? Because he is both Holy and Just and the person who sins offends God. God's Holy and Just character will not allow Him to ignore this offense. Remember "God is not a man, that he should lie."(Numbers 23:19) the Bible says "I love them that love me" (Proverbs 8:17) And how do we show God we love him? "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15).
If your mom is indeed judging according to the word of God, that is fine. Because the Bible says "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgement." (John 7:24) "...Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in judgment. Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord or God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts." (2 Chronicles 19:7-8)

God longs for people to repent because He loves us and doesn’t want us to destroy ourselves. He desires our good. Jesus went to Calvary to pay a debt far too great for us to pay, opening the way for forgiveness and new life. And as He forgives us, He calls us to forgive those who offend us.
