  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes. Why should you get to decide when others register?
I think what really bothers them is that I waited in line to register when I was 18 and newly eligible.

Yeah, the talking filibuster hasn't really been a thing since the '70s.
It's time. Voter ID is what is wanted by the American people and the Republican members of Congress. Democratic fair and honest elections are critical.

The Senate rules are complicated, but I don't think the Republicans can reliably force a talking filibuster.

I think Trump is trying to filibuster his own website. From Voter ID to the 52nd state to the tariff decision at SCOTUS to the destruction of the US at the hands of demented and evil people, to say nothing of the dogs and cats living together.

Understand it doesn't seem to matter how many times he is right. For example, people kept claiming the tariffs would be absorbed by the American consumer, that tariffs were crazy, that inflation would have topped the 11% under Biden, that it would ruin our economy. Of course other countries had tariffs on the U.S., but that didn't seem to matter. They said it would be an oppressive TAX on Americans that would damage the poor and middle class. Yet the tariffs have been wildly successful in bringing other countries to agree to FAIR trade with the United States while not causing runaway inflation. Democrats like Schumer used to be for voter ID, now it is against their plan, it is Jim Crow 2.0! Is making someone provide an ID for cigarettes or to open a bank account or to get government benefits or to buy certain cold medicines or get a fishing license or cash a check Jim Crow 2.0 ? The bottom line is that the Save America Act will be a major step in stopping illegals from registering to vote.

A solution in search of a problem.

Trump’s Claims About Noncitizens Voting Are False. We Can Prove It.

"When confronted with allegations on noncitizens voting in Utah, Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, the state’s top election official, initiated a monthslong review of Utah’s approximately 2.1 million registered voters. She and her team found one “confirmed noncitizen.” Just one. And that one noncitizen, while registered, had never voted.

Idaho, a state of one million voters, ran similar tests in 2024, and they found 36 “very likely” registered noncitizens. That may seem like a lot until you view it in light of claims that statewide elections are altered by such anomalies. Some, but not all, of those 36 people have previously voted, the secretary of state, Phil McGrane, said, but “out of the million-plus registered voters we started with, we’re down to 10 thousandths of a percent” of the overall count — not even close to affecting the outcome.

Louisiana’s investigation in 2025 netted some 390 noncitizen registrants, 79 of whom had voted in at least one election over the last several decades (out of 2.9 million registrants). Just a few weeks ago, Montana found 23 possible noncitizen registrants (out of approximately 785,000 people registered). And Georgia, in some ways the model for these investigations, found in its 2024 audit 20 registered noncitizens (out of 8.2 million registrations). In my four years in office in Maricopa County overseeing voter registration, I came across a total of two possible instances of noncitizens voting out of some 2.5 million registered voters."

1) As much as prosecutors and judges love to go after Trump, such as making up ridiculous valuations of Mar-a-lago and faking photos of classified document covers on the floor, no one brought up charges for Trump asking about finding votes. That's because Trump clearly believed vote counts had been altered and he, like other candidates, was perfectly within his rights to ask to look for uncounted votes.
2) Democrats have been gerrymandering for decades and Republicans are finally fighting fire with fire by using Democrat tactics. Hopefully such efforts will cancel each other out.
3) Election "fraud" is a tiny subset of the election wrongdoing that takes place, and basing fraud on the number of convictions is not an accurate method to determine the amount of fraud nor does it represent other election wrongdoing. An analogy to show how fraud convictions can be underestimated would be realizing that the number of reported burglaries far outnumbers actual burglary convictions and basing the number of burglaries on convictions is folly.
4,5) What Democrats have done is flood our nation with more than 10 million "immigrants" in one presidential term in an attempt to bump up the future census numbers for more Democrat Congressional seats with hopes of making those immigrants citizens in an effort to make sure Democrats grab power and control. Leaders lied to the American public claiming the border was safe, secure, and closed all the while bringing in massive numbers of people. Human trafficking rose to a level not seen since the Civil War, many women were sexually attacked on their way here, and criminals were let in the country to prey upon innocent victims. So many people suffered, used as pawns in that quest for political power. Our country's social networks have been strained to the max, and too many Democrat leaders looked the other way from immigrant fraud.
Yes, everyone is just picking on poor old Donald Trump and the Republicans gerrymandering.

Yeah, the talking filibuster hasn't really been a thing since the '70s.
What about Cruz' 2013 Green Eggs and Ham?

By the way, does this act contain a clause that directs states to give their voter data to the feds?

If you cared about fair and honest elections, then you'd stop listening to Donald Trump and his boot-licking MAGA minions; and you'd come to your senses and reject the Save America Act like a sane, reasonable, honest American.

People are meant to lick boots. Why else would the finer things in life like wine, chocolate, and cigars have "hints of leather" in the reviews?

The name-calling which has been so effective on the Democrat base hasn't worked for voter ID. The idea that having an ID for voting, just like you have to have for getting government benefits or cashing a check, is Jim Crow 2.0 is laughable to many Democrats. Voter ID will go far towards the goal of each citizen, and only citizens, voting one time each election. Look at the most recent hypocrisy:
