I didn't say he lied, I said he misstated. He may have assumed incorrectly, as apparently many have, that it was a single image photo.

Have you gone through the Apollo photo archives that I linked you to previously? You have a really bad habit of ignoring most of someone's post and just responding to an incidental part of the post.

NASA never claimed the later "Blue Marble" image was a single image photo. They were completely transparent about it being a composite image. So it was a misstatement by Obama to say it was a single image photo. I don't know if he was misinformed by his staff or if he made the mistake himself but again, NASA never claimed it was.

Just like it can be claimed there is no fisheye lens use in the image the globe earths being posted. Of course there is no fisheye lens, because there is no lens used at all. The images being posted are not photographs, but images created from data. They could create from the data a square earth, a triangular earth, etc... They just chooes to put the data on a sphere, because that is what most people believe the earth is.

No. Is spherical. Is an oblate spheroid. The diameter around the equator is 26 miles wider than the diameter from pole to pole. I’ll post the picture of the day later.
