One time my brother in Christ, Ryan, was skateboarding and I overheard someone say to him, "SCREW YOUR JESUS!"
A hateful comment I must say indeed. But you know what? That guy didn't know a thing about Jesus, he was just spouting off hatred.
I am sure that there are many of us here who know more about Jesus than that guy ever will.
I find it funny how people who hate usually do so because they feel a negative emotion, but they have no knowledge to back up why exactly they are hating. All they know is that they hate. Its ignorance.
For example, a lot of musicians are hated on (sadly) because people think they are bad influences, but what people don't understand is that if they peel back the layers they will find that these artists have had hard lives and they are writing their songs based upon their own bad life's experiences. They are not evil, just misunderstood. They are actually broken, vulnerable, and hurting people. They have suffered through a lot and are far more human than a lot of us. These kinds of people need our love and compassion, not our ridicule. Only then can healing begin.
