  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes, a solution to this issue is available, and many Christians already know it.
There are 3 things we should know. The first among them can be found in the following link.
For anyone who doesn't know it yet, please click here.
It might change your life, for the better.

Hhmm...I thought that when people prayed and asked God for things, that sometimes His answer was "no." God's not some bank account or personal ATM for you up in the sky, He is an actual Person with His own will and feelings. How would you make other people feel if you only went to them when you wanted stuff from them? That's not love. That's being selfish.

Sometimes God answers our prayers in ways we don't like or understand, but its important for us to put aside our own will and desires and just do as He wants instead. "Not my will, but Thine, O Lord, be done. Amen."

Peace

I think that sometimes when we pray to God and get no answer, it doesn’t always mean He is saying no!! :cookie::cookie::custard::custard:

Sometimes we need to be more patient and wait on His Timing.

But yes if someone is asking God for something bad then His Answer would be no. Because He Is Good.

God Is A Good Father!!:hug::cookie::cookie::custard::custard:

Hey, actually the outcomes are not random.
It is not good luck or bad luck.

In fact, there are conditions - please read the third post in this thread Go to 3rd post

John in the story I think was very materialistic and more focused on himself than God.

Maybe that is why he got kidnapped?

Maybe God wanted to teach him a lesson and change his heart?

It made me think of this Bible Verse:

““Do not store up for yourselves wealth here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and burglars break in and steal. Instead, store up for yourselves wealth in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and burglars do not break in or steal. For where your wealth is, there your heart will be also.”

Prayer is a state of communication with Jesus Christ, not a means of getting our own will done.
It's not necessarily having our will done, everyone has legitimate needs, eg to pray for wife or husband's health, to pray for safety, to pray for a job. We have a duty to pray for our daily needs, but also ACCEPT God's decisions.
You really never need to ask God for anything ????
Then you are already a saint, unlike the rest of us.
The rest of us do.

The main theme of that story is we need humility, and that there is a RELATIONSHIP between humility and joy.

True joy is only found when you have a good humble heart.

A proud or arrogant heart cannot find true joy.

I know because I once had an arrogant and ugly heart but God changed me for the better.

I had no true joy before God.

Now I have joy and happiness that I never knew was possible for me!! Because of God!!

God humbled me and made me a better person than I used to be.

I’m still not good enough, but I am grateful to God I am not who I used to be.

Can you explain the issue in the OP? What when there is no answer? Do you believe that if people do not pray they will not be healthy, safe, or employed?

You really never need to ask God for anything ????
Here is my entire post "Prayer is a state of communication with Jesus Christ, not a means of getting our own will done.". There is no suggestion that I have no needs.

Then you are already a saint, unlike the rest of us.
The rest of us do.
I certainly do not believe that a saiint should be identified by being someone who is healthy, safe and satisfactorily employed.

I am too busy for such argument, it would be endless if we go on and on. I have consulted someone wiser than me, and he said you are "fundamentally" correct , but I am also correct - we are encouraged to ask for our needs in prayer (that's humility).

I don't want to be involved in endless arguments.
I'm not smart enough......
