Wow, this is such a strange discussion. I can feel my head spinning... But maybe I am just tired and I need a nap...yup.

Personally, I think there is, or at least could be, and this is for a lot of reasons, most of which most of you probably won't believe, so I'm going to try to stick to just only the ones that you maybe can believe maybe, ok.

I don't think this is the real reality, and that what each of us is, goes well beyond this actually, etc. I think that this reality is just a sub-set of another reality which is the real reality, etc. That this is more like a program, or simulation, and that most of what we see/experience here is only temporary, and that this is not the greatest or highest reality, but is only a part or sub-set of that other reality, etc. Also that this reality is deterministic also actually, etc. And that some of us maybe even had a pre-existence before this maybe, but that memory of only just fails us right now currently, etc, but that also might be re-restored upon re-entering maybe. There are a lot of possibilities, etc.

Why this reality or our temporary existence here is another discussion for another time, although I do think I have some answers for that though actually.

Anyway, what do you think?

Can you exercise some sort of faith/belief that this reality might not be the only reality, or the highest or greatest reality? Or at least allow for the possibility of that maybe?

When you read the Bible you'll find that there are heavens with an s. Scripture tells us there is life out there other than the Life on this planet, even if it's just concerning the Lord and his angels.

Ancient cultures also wrote of those they call gods that come down from the sky and they are the ones that created the Earth, that too tells us there is other life out there.

It would seem that Earth is a sort of prison, there is nowhere else where man can exist outside of this Earth at this point in time. Man requires the elements of the Earth to exist.

But even today there are eyewitness accounts, government accounts of what they now call extraterrestrials that fly around in the skies in crafts that defies the laws of gravity - defies the laws of the ability to travel at the speed of light. Like that in which some of the ancient people wrote of.

I seriously doubt if life is a simulation, for me simulation has no bases, God formed man and placed him in the garden in the East of Eden which he had prepared...... But I do believe that there are other realities out there, scriptures tell us this....... I also believe / know of what is being seen in the skies in these modern days, which is unknown to man ...... In the new heaven and new earth there will be no sun, no moon, no oceans on Earth and that is totally opposite of the Earth as it exists now.

There is more out there in this endless space then man can imagine. Man it's even discovering planets that should not exist according to man's knowledge of the laws of the universe.

The only reality we are aware of is what we are able to observe. Even then we have the oberver effect so we have an effect on what we observe. I wonder if God needs us to observe what He is doing. Esp when we read about the living creatures that are covered with eyes. Does God have eyes? We read

• “His eyes run to and fro throughout the earth”

The mystics of the various world religions have a somewhat varied experience of reality. It has to do with consciousness and like you say "what we observe". They observe existence a bit different than most of us.

That kinda of sounds like Panentheism to me. Not to be confused with Pantheism.

Just an observation, here: Most cults have a basis in reality, taken past accuracy---often, or even usually, something that the church has generally neglected to some degree. And their theme is usually that for which they are named.

Doctrinally, God's Transcendence becomes, perhaps, even superstitious spiritualism. And his Immanence becomes Panentheism. And his Love becomes Universalism.

Mysticism as commonly understood now days refers more to late 19th and early 20th century Modernist construction based on an imagined universality, but now days many scholars of comparative religion and mysticism are more reluctant to argue that mystical experience can be fully separated from the embedded contexts in which the experiences happen. The language of "consciousness" and "pure experience" comes out of that older tradition. More modern accounts of mysticism tend to recognize anything universal must be mediated by the particular experience of a given community of interpretation. That points to dialogue rather than making sweeping claims about other religious traditions without serious engagement with their symbolic structures.

Here's where I think Christian theology offers something unique in terms of mystical theology: love implies personhood, something that many Asian mystical traditions tend to not recognize as a valid or ultimately real category (buddhism explicitly does not, though there was an ancient, but now heterodox school, the Pudgalavardins, that did). Certain forms of Vedanta gesture towards this, but it's rarely given the importance as in Christianity. Christian notions of personhood have implications that ground Christian mystical theology in ethics that's more holistic and relational than merely saying the world is an illusion or appearance.

I am not trying to explain anything. I am just quoting the Bible. For me something covered with eyes sounds like wheels within wheels. Although wheels within wheels makes a lot more sense. A solar system for example is made up of wheels within wheels. “The universe is built in layers: solar systems inside star systems, star systems inside galaxies, galaxies inside clusters — wheels within wheels at every scale.”

In God's attributes of Aseity, Omnipotence and Simplicity one can see reason to wonder if this temporal order is simply an imagination in God's mind. Yet those same attributes demand that God's mind is not like ours. There is reason to think that, for God, to think is to do. Either way, what we have is reality, even if it is a mere vapor in comparison to the solid reality of God's economy. (One reason I consider it reality is because in this temporal order, Christ really died for us.)

But whether in God's mind, whether analogically a story God is telling or not, this is where we currently live and operate, and it is fact enough for us. For us to imagine that we can conceive to any valid degree and understanding what God's economy is like, is only by comparison to this one, and expressed at best in terms we relate with, understood by OUR point-of-view.

It is valid to say though, that there is a spiritual component to us that senses in some way, that eternal economy. But we still don't know how to address it, except in fellowship with Christ. Every other supposed way is deception, no matter how far our insertions into that other 'reality'. WE don't have the lexicon with which to describe it, nor facts enough to suppose anything we experience that is not God's word on the matter, is more than deception.
