  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I asked the Internet just how many Christians are in the world...

....and it said:

As of 2025–2026, there are approximately 2.6 billion Christians in the world, making it the world's largest religion, representing roughly 32% of the global population. While growth has slowed in Europe and North America, Christianity is growing, particularly in the Global South (Africa, Latin America, and Asia).
  • Total Population: Estimated between 2.5 and 2.64 billion.
  • Demographic Shift: Approximately 69% of all Christians live in the "Global South".
  • Major Branches: The largest group is Catholics (approx. 1.3 billion), followed by Protestants and Orthodox Christians.
    • Growth Rate: The Christian population is growing at a rate of roughly 1.08% annually, with expectations to top 3 billion by 2050.
    • Top Countries: The United States has the highest number of Christians, followed by Brazil and Mexico.
While some reports indicate a slight decrease in the total percentage of Christians relative to the overall population growth in the last decade, the absolute number of Christians continues to rise.

So apparently there is 2.6 billion of us. That is a far larger number than I thought there was. Makes me feel relieved, knowing I have so many brothers and sisters in Christ. Big spiritual family. :) I fall under the "Protestant" category as I am a Baptist.

I had a feeling that the Catholics were a HUGE group, and they are. The Pope has a big responsibility looking after the Church! :O

Oh, according to those statistics it says Christians are increasing. I didn't know that either. Interesting.

2.6 billion professing a belief in Christ does bot equate to 2.6 billion people following the Lord. The parable of the sower explains it perfectly.

Listen carefully: a sower went out to sow [seed in his field]; and as he sowed, some seed fell beside the road [between the fields], and the birds came and ate it. Other seed fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil; and at once they sprang up because they had no depth of soil. But when the sun rose, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. Other seed fell among thorns, and thorns came up and choked them out. Other seed fell on good soil and yielded grain, some a hundred times as much [as was sown], some sixty [times as much], and some thirty.

Three out of four produced no fruit. Only the ones with the harvest were counted.

So basically what you are saying is this: We will know the saved and the unsaved by their character, correct? That is what I am guessing you mean by "fruit." Fruit = character traits.
