  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just want to interrupt the Anti- Trump posts

Hopefully this president will be the last and only convicted felon who bragged about getting away with sexual assault.
Well, Democrats should nominate a candidate that can win against a such a person.

Pope Leo disagrees strongly with Trump's style and substance.
As do I.

I still pray for him daily and let the Holy Spirit do the heavy lifting.

God’s will be done.

I pray for Trump to repent and find God. I really want him to go to heaven. It would be great to see him walk in and realize who was in there with him.
Amen, me too. Ultimately, he will answer to God for his salvation, and no one else.

I am happy to share public rest rooms, in the privacy of my stall, with trans induviduals in return for the popular progressive programs Biden established, only to be backtracked by a "populist" speaker with un-populist programs.
Nancy Mace, a victim of sexual assault, is not comfortable allowing trans individuals in the restroom with her.

I have a 14 year old niece. If any male, regardless of their “identity,” wanted to be in the restroom with her, I would cause a scene and take action against him.

Despite my serious issues with Trump, I’m happy he’s putting an end to this nonsense.

But this isn’t a trans thread. It’s about prayer.

When the leaders are beyond rehabilitation, we can only pray for deliverance in the next election.

Trump got his second chance and the entire world has lost faith in our country. Domestically, a vast majority of Americans have seen the light. Even former true believers have voters' remorse.
You do know who the leaders were when those passages were written, right? If Christians were encouraged to pray for Nero and Domitian, praying for Trump is small potatoes.

That's the shocking thing. Millions of Americans preferred a candidate who is a criminal, a sexual predator and a convicted felon. There's a pervasive sickness in this nation. There's some evidence that it's getting better. We'll have to see how mid-term elections go.

Or perhaps people thought the alternative was worse. Identity politics is a losing strategy. Hopefully, Democrats will focus on issues that doesn't make people cringe.

Because Trump is pretty good at playing identity politics. But lots of MAGA people are starting to see the consequences of those votes. And many of them are cringing at what's now happening to them.

Identifying with the middle class, diverse populations, etc. Identifying with everyday Americans us a good thing.

And remind everyone that we are supposed to be praying for our leaders. I am pretty sure that I read that somewhere.
I live in the Bible Belt and was an evangelical for most of my life. I am certain most evangelical Christians were not praying “for” Democratic Presidents.

When it comes to identity politics, the average American middle class family places queer/race theory and preferred pronouns very low on their list of priorities. It may sound very important to privileged middle aged white women with nothing else to worry about other than cosplaying as my white knight in shining armor to come to my rescue with their sole weapon as being offended on my behalf about things I care nothing about. But in reality, people are more willing to vote for the person they believe will make their lives better, rather than making someone else better at their expense.

The poll also found 49% of respondents said the country is worse off after the first year of his second term, while 32% said it’s better and 19% said it’s about the same (the poll of 1,625 registered voters was conducted Jan. 12-17 and has a 2.8-point margin of error).
A majority of voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy, immigration, the Russia-Ukraine war and Venezuela.

It's why Trump-backed republicans have done so poorly in elections lately. Most recently:

Democrat Taylor Rehmet won a special election for the Texas state Senate on Jan. 31, flipping a district blue that President Donald Trump won by 17 percentage points in the 2024 presidential election against Kamala Harris.

Rehmet, a veteran and labor union leader, defeated Republican activist and entrepreneur Leigh Wambsganss to represent Texas' 9th Senate district, located in the Fort Worth area.

“This win goes to everyday working people,” Rehmet told supporters, according to multiple reports.

Trump had backed Wambsganss in the race, urging voters in the district in a post on Truth Social to "GET OUT AND VOTE for a phenomenal Candidate."

Yeah. Didnt get pass the first sentence before I stopped reading because you failed to catch my point. It doesn't matter what people think NOW about Trump, and what does now doesn't matter in 2028. Why? Because Trump isnt running in 2028. All I am saying is that if Democrats actually want to win in 2028, they need to act like they want to win.

I think we're praying--but for different outcomes. We are definitely not of one accord.

Why not pray for wisdom and better trust in God's plan rather than telling God what we want Him to do?

You're missing something. To understand Trump, you have to think like a grifter thinks.

Trump warns Democrats will impeach him if Republicans don’t win midterms

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5674791-trump-impeachment-midterms/

And the statute of limitations won't kick in on some of the stuff he's done until well after 2028.

I think thats what democracy is supposed to do. To allow the people to determine who governs them and represents their interests and beliefs or worldview.

This is usually based on social and cultural norms. It use to be that the social norms were more Christian or biblical. But as things change and the social norms reflect secular worldviews. Then it stands to reason that a different belief about how society and the world should be ordered will be an option.

No political ideology has a hold on governance. In Christs time it was pagan Rome. The church was a seperated entity. It went into the world but was not of the world.

I think the church created its own community and was seperate. They could not govern. Only within their own community. The church use to offer counsel to the State. But the State could take or leave that counsel.

So I think you cannot mix politics and religion. It does not work.

The problem is the political has been made the personal and thus has brought religion in. Or rather belief in. It wasn't the church but the secular politics. Identity politicals brings in everything, beliefs, gender, race, past associations, everything. Christianity in politics is another identity group like TPUSA, BLM or ANTIFA or any other identity group with competing ideologies.

Thats why Christs church has to be seperate from all this. Otherwise its no different.
