  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it sinful to have a worship service on Saturday? Is there a Bible verse thst teaches that?
No, a worship service may be held any and every day of the week, but the main one is to be on Sunday. Sunday is the designated day for worship and rest for all Christians.

If a person follows the Jew's example of when a day begins, a Saturday evening service would be counted as a Sunday service. The beginning of a day begins at sundown, and it ends at sundown the following day.

[The Jewish day begins at sundown, marking the start of each new day in the Jewish calendar. This practice is rooted in the biblical account of creation in Genesis 1:5, which states, "And there was evening and there was morning, one day." According to Jewish tradition, the day starts with the onset of evening—specifically, at sunset or shortly thereafter, when three stars become visible in the sky. Summary by BRAVE AI.]

Where does the Bible say that Christians have to worship on Sunday? I have NEVER read that verse. Why have you failed to give me the biblical reference? I'm not asking for a denominational teaching on the matter. Is the Bible the word of God or is it not?

It doesn't. It shows the tradition of what the apostles did on Sunday, the first day of the week. Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:2
They called Sunday the Lord's Day. Revelation 1:10

This tradition, originally commanded by Jesus Christ before he ascended into heaven, was taught by the apostles to the early first-century Christians through their preaching to them in person.

1 Corinthians 11:2
I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.

John 21:25
But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

Yes, these Scriptures are also the word of God. So many people ignore them.

I won't be continuing this discussion. I hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Thank you. I have never attended a church or denomination that didn't worship on Sunday nor was I planning to. I don't ignore the Bible. :)
