The following incident comes just to mind.

When I started studying biblical numbers about eight years ago, I still sometimes had doubts and wondered if it was all just my imagination and pure coincidence.

That was also the case on the day when I wanted to buy a few things. There is a small supermarket in our village, and when I was inside, I said to myself, "Benaiah, ask the Lord for a clear sign that studying the numbers really has a divine foundation."

We have both experienced, that G-d speaks to us humans through numbers.

If He numbers even the very hairs on our heads, how much more is His order reflected in His Word? Nothing is coincidence; every jot and tittle has its weight. Glory be to the Lord for this revelation!

These edition is characterized by complex mathematical patterns and gematria. The KJV 1769 exhibits a divine design.

The changes from the 1611 to 1769 primarily concerned spelling and punctuation. It was revised by Dr. Benjamin Blayney in Oxford, with over 20,000 changes made to spelling, punctuation, and grammar to bring it into line with 18th-century English. It was precisely this standardization of spelling that sealed the precise mathematical patterns.


The spelling reform sealed the gematria on three levels:

1 Elimination of variability

In 1611, there was no fixed spelling in English. A word like “son” could be printed differently, often depending on how much space the typesetter had in a line. Since each letter has a numerical value, each alternative spelling changes the mathematical sum of a verse. It was only with the establishment of a single spelling per word in the 1769 version that a stable numerical database was created.

2 Harmonization of word frequencies

Blayney corrected thousands of small typesetting errors and standardized the use of italics (words that do not occur in Greek/Hebrew but are necessary for English).

Only through this precise adjustment were exact counts for key terms obtained. The often-cited figure of exactly 77 mentions of the word “Amen” (with a capital A) or the exact divisibility by 7 in the word count of certain books often do not work in the 1611 version due to inconsistencies.

3 Adaptation to the “Divine Alphabet”

The development of the English alphabet from 24 to 26 letters was not a coincidence, but providential guidance. The standardization was completed just in time to anchor a precise mathematical structure in the 1769 revision of the KJV. Standardization "seals" the text in an alphabet that itself has numerological significance.


This “guided” process encompassed

1 The separation of I/J and U/V

Until the 17th century, I and J as well as U and V were often used interchangeably. In the KJV of 1611, for example, “Iesus” or “Heauen” was often used.

The complete separation of these letters in Benjamin Blayney's 1769 revision created the basis for unambiguous gematria. Without this differentiation, words such as “Jesus” (J=10) and “I” (I=9) could not have been distinguished from each other numerically.

2 The number 26 as a “divine signature”

The modern English alphabet consists of exactly 26 letters. The Blayney Revision was the first version to consistently implement the modern English alphabet with 26 letters.

In Hebrew, the tetragrammaton YHVH has a numerical value of 26.

The fact that the English language, the language of the most widely used Bible in the world, settled on exactly 26 letters is a proof that G-d “sealed” the language itself as the carrier of His Word. The alphabet itself thus becomes a numerical representation of His name.

3 Synchronization with printing technology

The standardization of spelling and the introduction of the Roman typeface (which replaced the Gothic script of the 1611 Bible) coincided with the Enlightenment and the advent of more precise printing techniques. This enabled texts to be fixed in a form that remained unchanged for centuries, thus making statistical patterns (such as the frequency of the number 7) “detectable” for the first time.

The history of language wasn't a blind evolutionary process, but rather a preparation. The 1769 revision is the “finished” text, in which the mathematical constants are finally locked into place by the now 26-letter alphabet.

The 1611 version was so to speak the “rough diamond,” while the standardization of 1769 provided the “cut” that brought out the hidden mathematical patterns precisely and immutably.

In the 1611 text, “Heauen” (6 letters) would yield the same count value as “heaven” (6 letters), but the numerical value of the letters (u=21 vs. v=22) would change the total sum.

HEAUEN (1611): 8+5+21+5+14 = 54

Gematria research on the KJV 1769 often relies on the sum 55, as this, in conjunction with other verses, creates mathematical symmetries that would be “broken” with the 54 of the 1611 version.

Benjamin Blayney's (1769) correction also removed superfluous commas and adjusted the italics. In Gen 1:1, the comma after “heaven” was removed in many printings, which harmonized the word count and the position of key words throughout chapter 1.

The 1769 version is not a “new” text, but rather the purified mathematical matrix. Only by precisely fixing each letter (such as the ‘v’ in heaven) did the text become “readable” for computer calculations and complex statistical analyses.
