  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

More on the MAGA war on the judiciary. Once again, Donald's choice , John Sarcone, for a US attorney's term was not extended by the district's federal judges possibly because he had no prior prosecutorial experience before being appointed as top prosecutor for the district. There seems to be a little bit of a pattern with this.

Veteran prosecutor Donald Kinsella was sworn in as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York in a private ceremony Wednesday, according to an announcement from the district court.

Later that evening, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote on the social platform X that Kinsella was removed from the role.

“Judges don’t pick U.S. Attorneys, @POTUS does,” Blanche wrote. “See Article II of our Constitution. You are fired, Donald Kinsella.”

...Kinsella has more than 50 years of experience as a criminal and civil litigator. He was an assistant U.S. attorney in New York for much of the 1990s before being promoted to criminal chief of the Northern District of New York’s prosecuting office. He retired from federal service in 2002.

Fidelity above all! Little wonder this lawless administration is doing so very badly in its prosecutions.

Impeach Bondi, Blanche and Donald!

I see we’re at the “co-equal” (branch of government) now means “subordinate to” the will of the King President, place.

(And Official Proceedings are held in the Court of X)

Pam Blondie reason 1A, Todd Blanche reason 1B; as why the one and two at DOJ should never come from a president's own personal counsel.

One thing for sure, Trump is a walking stress test on the constitutional process. And once he's gone, Congress should have a whole litany of legislation to strengthening it. Starting with felons can not hold the office of the presidency. Yes, amending the constitution.

The president nominates US Attorneys. The Senate confirms US Attorneys. And if the Senate hasn't after a certain amount of time, judges appoint them.

AI:
  • Temporary Appointments: If a position is vacant, the Attorney General may appoint an interim U.S. Attorney for 120 days, after which federal district courts may appoint one if the Senate has not confirmed a permanent replacement.

Has the White House posted on TruthSocial (or X) a name of a nominee?
Is having a US-A vacant for any amount of time “normal”?

I think Trump may be running out of lawyers who represented him personally.

I heard that there’s been seen ads (not by me personally), to apply to be a US Attorney.
This is the highest a brilliant lawyer can reasonably go, in law, (if not politics, or appointed to the other Branch), and the DOJ is forced to take out ads to get enough people.
“They’re not sending their best!” is just so apt, these daze.

The totally sober Pirro got a dance photographer who used to work for her back when she was DA for Westchester County. He is/was a legit prosecutor for thirty years, but had pretty much left the field for his current vocation.

Vandervelden worked for Pirro in the Westchester County District Attorney’s office in the 1990s. His pursuit of this case along with Davis also followed a mass exodus of criminal prosecutors from Pirro’s staff, including supervisors in the public corruption unit.
Vandervelden’s photography website features sections labeled, “Dance Puppetry,” “Dance the Plank Series,” and “Circus, Yoga, and Fitness.”
“I spent a good portion of my life peering into the darkness looking for the bad guy,” Vandervelven told the Rockland/Westchester Journal News in 2023 about his shift from law to photography. “Now it’s a joy to peer into the darkness and look for the light and find beauty as opposed to the grime.”

His photos of dancers are strikingly beautiful. browse
